The PH always reserve the best for the last, don't they? The most impactful episode of the week is always on Friday. No doubt, it was as intense as the one from last Friday.
The episode belonged to the two women- First, Dilshaad and then Zoya. Two women, who have grown in the different parts of the world but are very similar in their outlook and their attitude towards life.
DILSHAAD: The most elegant character on this show; a woman who was betrayed and abandoned by her husband 17 years ago, who has kept a dignified silence all these years, finally roared like a lioness today. She has never let the world know how she has felt all these years. She has let her smiles bury her tears and her dignity rule over the humiliation suffered at the hands of Rashid and his new extended family. Instead of focusing on negativity and hatred, she has made her home a sanctuary for her kids with love and positivity. Her kids are her world and just like a lioness would guard her cubs against all enemies, she has protected them from the evils of this world. Her son, Asad doesn't always share her 'Gandhian' attitude towards Rashid and his second family, but Dilshaad has managed to keep her son in control; always guided him to avoid interaction with them, ignore them and not engage with them. Today, when Shireen pointed fingers at her cubs, Dilshaad broke all her barriers and the 17 years of suppressed tears, anger and grief was unleashed amidst the large family gathering. She was provoked to the max today.
"Ek biwi chup reh sakti hai,lekin ek maa nahin!" That one line summarizes the emotions that were displayed through Dilshaad's words today.
Interestingly, her wrath was directed towards Rashid the most. Yes, Rashid is primarily responsible for this mess and he deserved every word Dilshaad said about him.
We all know, Dilshaad can be a bit irrational when pushed to the wall. Today, she couldn't hold herself back and in her fury declared, "main vaada karti hoon ki Asad ka nikaah 10 din ke andar hoga!" Her statement, while made at the spur of the moment could have long lasting consequences.
At this moment, Dilshaad is a wounded lioness and no one better challenge her. This is where she might commit the biggest mistake of her life. When Shireen cursed her son to a life of loveless, unhappiness, Dilshaad declared her intentions of getting her son married within 10 days. We all know Asad doesn't like to get pressured into anything. At the same time, he wouldn't want his mother's honor to be questioned by anyone.
Asad is in a tough situation. After his banter with Zoya today, his ego will not let him confess his love for her. Like Dilshaad, is he going to get swayed by emotions and agree to a hurried marriage with someone else other than Zoya? Read- Tanveer?
Let's hope sanity prevails. Dilshaad, stop worrying about women like Shireen and Razia. You have always kept your children's interests ahead of anyone else. Don't make this mistake this time. Give Asad some space and he will make the right decision.
ZOYA: Even though Zoya claims that Asad is emotionally challenged, she is no less. Today was the second time when Asad indirectly asked her "kya aap is sagai ko asli karna chaahti hain?" He had asked her a similar question during the deportation proceedings. What does our girl do? She goes into her denial mode, remains silent about what she wants and dismisses the seriousness of the issue.
Zoya wants Asad to understand how she feels but doesn't want to convey her feelings to him. Isn't it the same with Asad? Even Asad wants her to understand how he feels, but just like her, his insecurities prevent him from stating the obvious.
Everyone around them, lo and behold, even Razia knows they love each other: inki sagai nakli ho,lekin mohabbat sachchi hai.
The holi dance and the scene at the airport where they are struggling to free themselves from others and reach each other are so symbolic of their relationship right now. It's not external factors that are separating them or holding them apart, it's their own insecurities and that invisible glass wall they have around them that is preventing them for reaching each other.
Zoya, please stop expecting lovey dovey words from Asad. Please go by his actions and give him space. By forcing him to say what you want to hear, he will just withdraw into his shell.
Asad, please stop torturing yourself and Zoya this way. Now, when Ammi asks you 'kya tum Zoya se mohabbat karte ho? Please say how you really feel. If ammi is being emotional and forcing her decision on you, the least you can do is listen to your heart and not be an adamant fool.
Observations:
- As Zoya tries to remove the ring for the umpteenth time, Najma intervenes. Najma will play an important role in their relationship?
- Tanveer is in a big soup. Queen Razia Bee has lost all trust in her. Tanu, your days are numbered.
- Get ready for a lot of drama next week. I won't be surprised if things don't go in favor of Asya next week but that might be the best thing that happens to them. If Asad does agree to marry Tanu, imagine what turmoil he will go through. Zoya will be broken but hopefully, more vigilant and try to find out Tanu's truth and win her love back. It might help Zoya introspect her feelings. So, guys brace yourself for a tough week ahead but don't lose heart.
