Pari is only Ovi's daughter if Purvi doesn't want her. I have seen it ever since the truth came out. Some people have been saying how selfish, and evil Ovi is for not loving Pari anymore. How can she just leave a child like that without thinking about her. (Never mind the fact Ovi has left Arjun too, and if she left Arjun then she is no longer her mother) Since Purvi won't take care of her, Ovi is supposed to be a mother to her. As soon as Purvi showed emotions toward the baby and said she needs her, all of a sudden Ovi is no longer needed. "Don't pretend you care Ovi"
Because see, Purvi gets to have a change of emotion. She may decide exactly what her responsibilities are towards Pari. So what yesterday she did not want the child, but today if she wants her she should have her. But Ovi does not get that luxury. It doesn't matter that she got the biggest shock of her life, and needed time to recover from this and understand what all of this means. It also doesn't matter that she loves the baby. The baby is not hers if Purvi wants her.
I don't prefer mahaan characters because they are unrealistic. However, I do not have that big of a problem with them. But I do dislike how fans perceive them here. This does not come close to the situation but this is the closest example I could find to explain why I feel this way. My uncle has serious financial difficulties but every year he sends me tons of gifts. Gifts I absolutely hate and would never use. I have explained to my mom many times that I do not like what he buys me. My mom gets furious with me and says I do not understand her brother's sacrifices or his love. She tells me I am ungrateful and selfish. The next year the same thing repeats all over again. A sacrifice has little value if the person does not wish for it. I doubt Ovi would have ever asked for a baby switch even if she knew her baby had died. After the truth came out Purvi still kept pushing the baby on Ovi, even though Ovi had left Pari and Arjun. I do not think that is sacrifice. The thought is good but it is not a sacrifice.
