Gauri was amazing once again today. Her running down the stairs as if she had forgotten how to breathe upon seeing Shiv in danger.. Wow.. The girl's a fabulous actor and I was in awe of her today. I am glad she was chosen to be our Gauri for the elegance and simplicity she exudes is irreplaceable in my book. The way she hugged Shiv like a toddler clinging to his mother for peace and comfort when he's in pain.. Gosh, simply mind-blowing!! And Shiv ji ko tu deikhain.. I was in awe when I watched him comforting a sobbing Gauri. I have to applaud Pallavi here for carrying out such a scene with the immense conviction as if Shiv is her world and she won't let anything bad happen to it. Aww.. Adorable scene by both actors..
Now coming to the kundali stuff.. I am a little disappointed that this astrological stuff had to be brought in. But to be honest, this is my second Ekta serial (I started off with Kasamh Se and then drifted to Karam Apnaa Apnaa when it started..), I am actually new to the kundali being the reason of Shiv-Gauri's marriage. I have not seen Kkusum and if "dc" wouldn't have brought this stuff up, I probably would have stayed in the dark (thanks hon for that 😉). However, I must say that I prefer having astrology and kundali to blame for Shiv-Gauri's marriage rather than a piece of property being involved in it. You may ask why? Well, first off, Alok ji owes a grand amount of $$$ to Mahen. So if the property was so darn important, then Mahen could have easily obtained that from Alok ji as a repayment of his debt. Moreover, a piece of land is such a futile reason to base a whole drama on.. This kundali stuff is more suited to reason out Devika's concerns and attempts of breaking their marriage. She explicitly stated a number of times that she has no other agenda in her mind this time and her efforts to break their marriage is to save Gauri. Why would she go through all the hassle of getting disrespected in a whole party and then decide to even leave the country had it not been something bigger than what meets the eye? I wouldn't see someone so rich sweating over a piece of land had it been me in her place. She has shown genuine concern towards Gauri many times and this is perhaps why. She wants to save her from the darkness that awaits her in future if she stays married to Shiv.Another arugment to support this idea is the verse playing in yesterday's episode, which said:
"Mit jayega ye pyar ka pal mai bharam..
Tere naam se shuru, tere naam pe khatam.."
(Wah, kya lyrics hain considering the situation)
Now coming to Shiv-Shanks encounter.. Well, that further supports my argument here. "Jaan kay bhi anjan mat bano Shiv, hum log achi tarah se jantey ho kay Gauri kay saath jo hadsa hua, wo kiun huya…" Of course, they all know. They know that these "hadsas" are happening because they got tied with her fate as soon as she married Shiv.. As if, these accidents were supposed to happen to Shiv and Gauri is the shield to protect him from these accident but this shield is getting burned itself as time passes along. Shank said, "Ab bhi wakt hai Shiv, jaa ker usay sab kuch bata do. Is se pehley kay us key saath ek aur hadsa ho, please go and tell her everything.." That clearly shows that there is still time left to let Gauri out of this union to save her life. Or else, one day, one of these accidents may become the reason of her demise (God forbid..). Now the whole scene of Gauri getting shot in the jungle is fitting into place. Perhaps that bullet was supposed to be for Shiv but Gauri's fate shielded him at the time. Perhaps Shiv was supposed to meet a bad accident today when his pallu was on fire but once again, Gauri became his savior. Perhaps Shiv was supposed to meet with some bad karma later on but instead, Gauri diverted it by getting electrocuted herself. All this indicates astrology playing a crucial role behind this union. And kyun na ho..After all, the drama is named "Karam Apnaa Apnaa" and many believe that astrology seems to play an inherent role in one's fate/karam. So let's see what happens in this case. "His fate, then, becomes the distinct observable effect of his own unrecognized choice". So will Shiv's fate become a cause for his love for Gauri eventually? We'll have to wait & watch as more episodes unfold..
I must say that I loved the way Shiv portrayed his pain and concern for Gauri via lecturing the whole house about how he should have supported Gauri and the truth in the first place and told Shyla everything about Daksh and his affair. What a way to calm your nerves and aching heart.. And you think you're not in love Mr. Shiv Kapoor? Well, believe what you want, you're head over heels in love with Gauri.. Bas Ek Pal .. Ek Pal mein Gauri Shiv ki ho gaye & bas ek pal mein Shiv bhi Gauri ka ho chuka hai..Chahei wo accept karey, ya na karey..
