Food seems to be the essence of all lifestyle channels

Right from royal cuisine, to regular street side food, lifestyle channels are now serving us with all kinds of food, to interest our taste buds. Since food brings in variety in life, the channels are doing their bit by expanding our knowledge horizon of food and various palates.

Although there are different food and lifestyle channels, but there are a couple of food programs, which continue to make audience drool over them.

TLC

  • Nigellissima : People, who love her, will love her food and vice versa. She is the domestic goddess, especially when it comes to food and she makes the rough chopping, not-so-appealing get up of Italian food, really enticing. Right from her books, to her casual way of treating food and presenting it, she makes people simply go crazy.
  • Floyd's India: Many Indian cooks take up the task of trying their hand with the perfected cuisine, but very few English cooks delve into the concept of Indian cuisine, across all realms. Floyd makes Indian cooking easy, authentic and delightful, giving the intricate details of the science behind the cooking.
  • Kylie Kwong Cooking with heart and soul: This show is a big hit with all those, who swear by authentic Chinese food, straight out from a Chinese kitchen. Kylie Kwong, the celebrated chef, uses some very simple ingredients, which are fresh and nutritious, to churn into some palatable dishes.

Fox Traveller

  • My Sri Lanka with Peter Kuruvita: Peter Kuruvita takes us on a food safari, whereby he teaches a few nuances of Sri Lankan cuisine and the methods of preparing the same. From using sea food, to spice to the more exotic ingredients like bamboo and lotus stems, the show captures all.
  • Street food around the world: Ishai takes us across countries, cities to enlighten us with various kinds of street food. Whether the food is sheer junk or healthy, he helps us learn about what's hot in each city's street eateries.

NDTV Good Times

    • Chak le India-kaccha rasta: Aditya Bal has made country side food a big hit amongst masses. He explores the narrow bylanes of villages, to meet country side folks, to reinvent his knowledge on country side cooking.
  • Highway on my plate: To watch cooking can be boring, but to explore the ready to eat food in various cities can be fun and exciting. This is exactly what Rocky and Mayur do on their show, which is reigniting that traveller and foodie within.
  • Gourmet Central and Do it Sweet: Both the programs are done by the revered chef Vicky Ratnani, who makes chef style cooking seem easy and an effortless task. While Gourmet Central deals with his elaborate main course and snack cooking, Do it Sweet, is all about the desserts. Anchor Maria Goretti teams up with him, for the 'Do it Sweet.'
  • Guilt free: Seema Chandra dishes out delicacies, which is healthy and can be indulged in, absolutely guilt-free.

Food Food

  • Mummy ka magic: Tackling children's fussy eating habits has now become easy with Amrita Raichand's quick fixes. The former model turned actress turned anchor, gives us some handy tips and nutritious recipes for children.
  • Secret Recipe: This show is a must for all those, who wish to seek the secret recipes for delicacies, which has been the trademark for some families. The secret recipes remain the same as they get passed onto generations, as an inherited treasure.
  • Sanjeev Kapoor's Kitchen: There's no denial of the fact that the man has turned a legend in the food world. Meet the man himself, as he shows some delightful recipes and shares some helpful tips to cook them.
