Finally the DAY comes when the mighty Jai Walia acknowledges that Pia running away with Pushkar on their Wedding Day and his marrying Bani, as a consequence, was the best thing that could have ever happened to him. 😊 Straight, upfront, blunt, no hide-and-seek, no pretense. That's Jai Walia for you today. And the receiver of this gem of a confession – none other than Pia who is all out to destroy her sister's family, life, love and happiness, based on the false belief that Mr. Walia will still fall for her beauty and charm and give importance to her just because she is carrying his child and also loves him. But what this woman fails to understand is the extent of Jai and Bani's love for each other and how time-altering course their relationship has already traversed and that she has only a pin drop chance and that too because of the baby, if at all she is pregnant. I have serious doubts on this issue but that's a different idea altogether.
Here, we are talking of Jai and Bani and Jai today, when he was extolling Bani's beauty and qualities, reminded me of this song by Faith Hill. A very beautiful song and to me, it indeed accentuates Jai's latent feelings for Bani and his love for her. How that love has changed his life and turned him into a better person. Yes, he may be somewhat of a shadow of the great Jai Walia that we knew of, but today if he has lost, if he has bowed down his head, its all because of love. It is for love only that he is willing to go through each and every harsh step of reality and still cling onto love, its again love which makes him find reasons in situations where no reason exists probably. And yes, he has indeed been touched by an angel. Its true he's hiding a big secret and I am not very happy with that cos the ONS secret will be out any day now, what with two exposed livewires moving all around him and his family. If the long-forgotten PR raaz could rear its head and unshackle the truth, the ONS is simply a very recent phenomenon and all the parties involved are too close for comfort. I know it's a very difficult thing for a man to acknowledge before his wife, especially if he happens to love his wife madly, yet Jai needs to do this himself. Tell the truth in the simplest way, 'cos when the third party will blurt out the truth, it will be too blown up beyond proportions, and hackneyed and coloured beyond disbelief.
And yes, I loved the way Jai showed Pia her place under the sun, an unforced error in the game of his life and he has unwittingly served an ace in the very first game. Pia and Jigs tries to get to Jai when the gynae tells them about the need for Pia to take proper rest, not only for her sake but also for the sake of the baby and how important it is for the father to assist the would-be Mom for checkup and yoga and other classes. Pushkar's timely entry saves Jai from the extra blushes. Jai is standing all alone waiting for Bani, staring at the rolling waves, when Pia comes to him and starts taunting him as to how the Doctor has mentioned that its important for the Baby's Father to be with the Mother 24X7 till the baby is born. Jai bristles with rage but controls himself. If Pia wasn't Bani's sister, then Pia would have become history by now and her geography would have been non-existant. 😡😡😡
Pia questions Jai as to why Jai always thinks of Bani and what exactly does Bani have that she does not possess. In fact, earlier, Mr. Walia had never lost an opportunity to compliment her on her looks. (Well Pia let me compliment you first, you look like a ghost, straight from Ramsay Brothers movies ). This time Jai loses his cool and yells at Pia that there is heaven and hell difference between Bani and her and that however hard she tries, she can never be Bani. And yes, Bani is more beautiful to him than Pia as she is beautiful not only from her external feautures, but is also beautiful from deep inside. Bani has an 'apnapan' that Pia will never possess; Bani's eyes reflect her 'iman' which obviously Pia's doesn't and Bani's most important feature was her 'saadgi', the simplicity that endears her to him and she is not made up like Pia. Here goes Jigs and Pia's fully faltoo plan to ensnare Jai by dressing Pia up in a designer dress. 😆
Jai further goes onto tell Pia that he is waiting there for Bani and not Pia and that he would like to go and find his wife. Jai was really in his elements today. He displayed every kind of emotion that a person can portray. Helplessness when the Dr. stresses on the importance of a parent's role in giving birth to a child; relief when Pushky steps in to answer the Dr.'s query about being Pia's husband; anger and outburst at Pia's attempts to lower Bani in front of him; his courage to tell Pia his feelings for Bani (but still the witch vows to convert his feelings for Bani into love for her – tell you guys, she never studied in school enough to understand the implications); his disbelief and anger when he is informed later that Bani has seen the Sr. Mr. Walia at the beach; his apologetic nature in front of his wife and then his romantic self. It is a treat to watch such a whole range of emotions and portrayals. He stands clear now, whatever be the aftermath of the revelation of the ONS raaz, Pia is not at all welcome in his life. Situations may force him to act differently but then his heart will definitely not be there.
Now for other issues highlighted today. I am sure theres's some problem with Bani's and Pia's reports, maybe the Dr. does not know even (don't ask me why) because why would Jigs invite Pia's and coincidentally Bani's gynae to the beach party? It was supposed to be a party for really close people.
By the way, the hand belonged to Dadi who had come along to look for Bani and to hurry her along, since Jai was waiting for her.
The warmest scene today was Ranveer and Saahil connecting as borthers and Saahil telling Ranveer that he missed his brother a lost. The two of them are standing near the bar, sipping their drinks (Ranveer's drinking a soft drink), and Saahil telling Ranveer how wives usually try to control their husband's drinking habits. Rohit comes along to meet the two guys. I really couldn't believe Ranveer telling sorry to Rohit for hurting Raashi and telling him that it won't happen. Rohit tells Ranveer that its ok this time but he should be careful next time, cos Raashi is his sister and he cannot see her sad and hurt.
Jigs friends are as horrible as her. Bani had somehow managed to get hold of a white saree, albeit a simple one, and had worn it for the party, sans any jewelleries, except a pair of earrings. She is self-conscious and knows very well that she is sticking out as a sore thumb. Jigs calls her and introduces Bani to her friends and Bani Jai Walia. Jigs friends express their sympathy towards Bani for being unable to be a Mother, even when her younger sister is pregnant. 😡 They then advise Bani to stay away from Pia lest her desire for a child causes troubles for the would-be Mother and the child. Bani is broken-hearted and she runs away to the beach. Only to be confronted by the image of Sr. Mr. Walia or Sr. Mr. Walia himself in front of her. But let me tell you guys, it was really hilarious to hear the word 'Papa' from Bani's mouth. I guess both RK and PD must have had laughter fits while shooting for this scene.
Bani is very afraid and she runs back to the party, calling for Rano. She faints in Rano's arms (I think its good news for Jai, but everybody thinks she's fainted due to shock). When she recovers, she tells everybody that she had seen the Sr. Mr. Walia in the beach. Everybody is aghast and shocked. When Jai comes to know of this, he is not at all happy and scolds Adi and others for behaving like kids, especially when the kids were afraid of these happenings. After the party, the entire family is sitting in the beach around the camp fire discussing the issue, when once again Jai reacts sternly to the incident and nearly reprimands everyone. Even Ranveer says that the happenings have scared them all, first with Maa and then with Mamiji. (Haila, what's wrong with Ranveer? He seems changed). Dadi asks everyone to go to sleep early so that they can have some fun the next day.
Jigs yells at Barnali on her cell and Barnali shuts her up telling Jigs that she has as yet not done anything, but that Jigs should no test his patience. Someone tell me, it seemed to me that Nachiket is not happy with these tactics of his Mom? I am not getting it.
Now for the romantic scene of the day – Jai is standing on the balcony, wearing his night dress, when Bani (dressed in her flower-patterned black night dress) comes to him and they start talking about the happenings. At that time, as gust of strong wind blows Bani's hair out of place and it is spread all across hr face. Before she can even react, Jai reaches up and combs her hair back, with his hand, back to place. An eye-locking session ensures and the two of them are completely lost in each other, 'Tere Bin' playing in the background. But of course there is an anti-climax. They suddenly hear a noise in their room and the spell is broken.
What happens next remains to be seen? Now for a few basic questions:
1. Do you think the Dubai raaz will come out in Alibagh only?
2. What will Barnali try to do now?
3. Has Ranveer really changed? This question is bugging me to no ends.
