"Virat what are you doing?" I have my doubts right not. What is he coming so close to me for?

"Ermm giving you a hug. Normal people hug after, you know, sharing their tragic story." He replied like it was the most normal thing to do.

I moved away and made a face, "No you already hugged me today morning. You are lucky I let you hug me once."

He folded his hands, "Thank you Manvi madam for letting me hug you once. My life's goal is fulfilled now."

Why does he have to be so annoying? "Arghh shut up Casanova."

He pouted and looked at me with a puppy dog face, "Not even one hug?"

He thinks that stupid puppy dog face will melt my heart? Yeah right. "You really think it is going to work on me?"

He looked at me clearly annoyed, "Well it works on me when YOU use it and let me remind you, you use it every day to get your way."

Hahah so true. See Virat is like that, he can't resist a puppy dog face. To get Virat to do what you want just make a sad face and plead. I swear it works every time. Infact just last weekend he came shopping with me for the entire day and also watched a chick flick with me. "It works on you because you are a softie Casanova."

"Do you need my help or not? Hawaii trip, need to convince your mom remember?" He said proudly.

Oh shit I forgot about that. "Maybe" I said and pleaded him with my eyes to not blackmail me.

But son of a gun.. "I need a hug first."

"Why don't you go hug blondie aka Paige? She will hug you any day you know." I said sarcastically.

He gave me a really expression.

"Fine." I opened my arms and he hugged me tightly, lifting my feet off the ground. Okay I have to admit that I sort of liked getting hugged. I feel so much better and the sinking feeling in my heart is gone. Man this guy is a good hugger.

He pulled out of the hug with a huge grin, "See I knew you could use a good hug."

"Who said I liked it?" I tried to put a straight face.

He lightly hit my head, "Please dumbo it is written all over your face that you loved it."

"Hey dumbo is my word." I argued.

"Your word? Are you getting some kind of an award for discovering the word?" He laughed at me for the hundredth time today. ARGHHH

"Mom." I stood right behind my mom and called her.

She turned around and was quite shocked to see me. She rearranged her features and changed it from shock to anger. I'm so going to regret this later. I hate you Virat for making me do this.

"So I erm you know I." I couldn't say it. It has been so long since I have had a proper conversation with mom or even addressed her. It is usually mom screaming at me and me zoning out or screaming back. This is awkward.

"Okay what I did last night was sortta not good? Virat thinks I should talk to you."

"Who is Virat?" She asked rudely.

"Doesn't matter." I gave a rude reply then I realized that I was supposed to make things better between us so I quickly added, "My friend."

She nodded me to continue.

"Well I don't think I did anything wrong but Virat thinks I did so maybe I was kindda wrong. But that doesn't make you right either. You told me you regret having me which is even worse than what I did. If I am expected to apologize then you should too."

I have seen my mom angry, maybe happy too but she looked shocked right now like she saw a live dinosaur or something. Then mom did something that I'd NEVER expected her to do.

SHE FREAKING HUGGED ME!!!!

"Oh baby I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean a thing I said. Ofcourse I love you and I would never regret having you." She wiped her tears and kept hugging me.

If someone shoots this it can be used for an Indian daily soap. What am I supposed to do now? She is still hugging me and I'm guessing it would be rude to push her away?

"I was scared of losing you. You have been so distant lately that I feel like I don't know you anymore. I know I have been extremely strict with you but that is because I don't want you to do something that you'll regret later. I love you so much baby."

She finally pulled out of the hug and kissed my cheeks. My sister walked in on us and saw the second half of our performance. She stood there with her mouth wide open.

What am I supposed to say now? I'd rather she screamed at me, atleast I'd know what to say. Unknowingly I wiped off my cheeks and my mom laughed at my action. Gotta admit, she looks pretty when she laughs.

Almost as a reflex I smiled back, "You know I'm not used to you showering me with kisses."

She laughed again and this time Misty, my sister laughed too. "And I'm not used to hearing 'mom' from you. What do you call me? Hitler, madam."

"Control freak." I added. I looked at Misty who was still laughing. "Misty what are you laughing for?"

Before she could answer mom asked me, "What does Misty mean?"

"Miss Fatty." I blurted.

Before mom could get mad at me again, Janvi quickly spoke, "Funny right mom? I don't mind at all."

Bless her.

Mom shook her head and said something that shocked me, "Well it is between the two of you. Manvi call your friend Virat for dinner. For a change you made a friend that talks sense. I would love to meet the person that put some sense in my daughter's head."

"Mom please he didn't do anything. He just told me once you know." No need to mention how many times in the car he tried to convince me and in the end blackmailed me that he will make the seniors cancel the Hawaii trip.

"Yeah right." My mom caught on.

"Hey that is my word!" I always say yeah right.

Moving towards the kitchen mom questioned, "Are you getting some kind of an award for it? Now go call Virat and invite him."

God she even talks like Virat! "Whatever." I went to my room to grab my phone.

Virat's Point of View

Man I love taking long showers, it just gives me so much energy. "Chaiji chaiji." I called and she hurried in my room with a glass of juice.

"What is for dinner tonight?" I asked and she started reading off a huge list. The only person that eats dinner in this house are the butlers and the maids and sometimes I do too so why are they cooking all these fancy dishes? She read my face and quickly answered, "Sir and madam have invited some guests over."

Arghh to hell with their stupid parties. It is going to be loud and annoying, I should probably head out.

Da da do do dim dim dim (randomly singing a tune in his head). Where should I go? Brando's? Nah he has become boring these days. Riley's? Never,most likely Paige will be there and she annoys the hell out of me- she is so damn clingy, gross. She never annoyed me as much but thanks to Manvi and her constant teasing sessions, I have started hating Paige even more. I wonder why Manvi keeps teasing me with her? Well its Manvi who can tell whats going on in her head.

I should probably call her and take her out for dinner. Yes I should do that, she is the only solution to my boredom. No wait a minute, she should stay home tonight with her mom and sort out her differences.

Ring ring. Manvi's call? Think of the devil and the devil appears. I hit the answer button, "Hello devil. I mean Manvi whats up?"

"HA HA HA. Very funny Casanova." I smiled hearing her voice. I'm positive she called it truce with her mom; she sounds so much happier.

"Did you call to thank me for helping you out with your mom situation?" I questioned proudly and like I'd expected she gave me her trademark one word, "Whatever."

"Okay Manvi madam why did you call me then?"

"I have to invite you for dinner tonight." Jeez can this girl read my mind or something? I mean just a minute ago I was wondering if I should take her out for dinner and now she is inviting me for dinner!

"No need to get excited, I am not inviting you but mom is." Wait a minute what is she talking about?

"What mom?" I asked not ready to believe her yet.

"My mom dumbo. She wants to meet you and she invited you for dinner."

"Whats the catch Manvi?" I asked.

She sighed into the phone and answered, "Mom also thought my friends were useless but now she thinks I'm finally friends with someone that talks sense. In her words, 'I want to meet the person that put some sense into my daughter.'"

"You coming or no?" She asked.

"Yes ofcourse I'm coming afterall I need to ask your mom why you are so weird." I answered excitedly which annoyed her even more. "Whatever." She hung up on me.
