You know Di, I see it this way, Shiv maybe knew it all along, fine, he gave her a chnace to leave the place and avoid the marriage and when she returned, his only way was to make her get away from him out of her will , so as to not be disowned...by his father. He pretended to be a good husband for his father's sake , but as things started going out of hand, his own emotions , rather the realization of what he has done has come forth and all the strength he has had , to withstand , all the pressure unwillingly , has given way and now he can't take it anymore , for the woman has trusted her life in him, ready to give it away for him, who had marreid her in a pretence...He is a truthful man, forced to don the mask of deceit and now he cant bear to wear it anymore, for her truthful eyes and her unquestioning faith leave him a bare soul... a ghostly mask and he wishes to pretend no more and be the man he is... for what he is...

Eevn I was very upset thinking about that shiv knew everything,but after reading your post,i agree with you.At the time of their marriage he really didn't care for her happiness.But after knowing gauri ,how beautiful a person she is ,he didn't want to hurt her.

But it would have been good if they had shown him knowing the plan after the marriage during exposing devika's truth.That would have been best.May be if gauri accepts him after knowing the truth ,then I think he will also love gauri.But if the truth comes out ,I don't think this time gauri's father will accept the marriage.
