HARSHADA REGE
Munisha Khatwani had a brush with the law recently, when she was taken to a police station in Bandra. Speaking about the incident, Munisha says, "I was driving back from my shoot and had reached Lilavati. But after the Carter Road incident, the police have started checking a lot of vehicles. And unfortunately, I wasn't carrying my license, as the car was sent for servicing the day before and I had removed my license and kept it in another car." The cop recognised Munisha, but the actor refused to acknowledge that she was a TV actor. "I was worried that I'll get into more trouble if I acknowledged that I am a TV actor. The cop said
he had seen many of my comedy serials and couldn't possibly forget me," she says. Finally Munisha accepted that she was an actor. But the cop refused to let her go. "He insisted that I come to the police station. I tried to pursue him to take the fine there, but he did not agree. He took me to the police station and introduced me to his colleagues. He then took the fine and let me go," she laughs. Munisha says that though she can laugh about the incident now, she was quite harrowed then. "I was very scared to go to the police station, but they were nice to me," she says.
Munisha says that after this incident ,she always checks for her license. "I am sure I'll never forget it again. I don't want to get into trouble anymore," she says. The actor says that another thing she got to know about cops is that they love comedy shows. "They recognised me from Yes Boss and other comedy serials," she says.
