Enough has been said about RK n Madhu's love story.. But just trying to go over what was shown and how it could be perceived..

I am certain that RK always loved Madhu, but his ego got better of him.
He claimed that he started faking love after the shooting incident. So let's evaluate for ourselves that what can be deemed as faking..
- the night he got back home and he saw her crying, he wanted to console her but stopped himself. Albeit, he went ahead narrating his dad's story to stop her from crying.
- got her Ganesha statue in the room, and his father's pic
- invited her family for Puja (can be faking)
- actually had a fight with Madhu regarding the Sari
- hid from Madhu that Malik is the killer.
- made her eat in his style and then dropped her at chawl as she was crying (can be faking)
- , imagining her under the influence of medicine, and then saw Madhu dancing instead of Dipali
- saved Malik from the clutches of law without rubbing this on to Madhu.
- had compete intentions to hide this from Madhu but she slipped out of the house while he was asleep
- went to the PS and saved Malik (I don't think that was faking)
- supported Madhu in front of his family (can't be faking as he never liked anyone else raising a finger at her);
- when she hugged him, didnt hug her back all mushy mushy but was quite restrained. (Don't know if this qualifies as faking)
- gave Bittuji a shut up call on speaking against Madhu, admitting that he was wrong in Mukund accident.
- told her about his past (he didnt make it up, but later sad that it was a part of his plan.)

By this time Madhu had fallen for him, which means she fell for the real person and not the false Rishab as most people have been claiming that the man she fell for did not exist. In true sense she did fall for the Real RK, the one she witnessed after the studio incident.

- looking out for her so that no one hurts her, taking her to the studio (again no one else can hurt her)
- hushing Bittuji because he didnt want to disturb her sleep
- yelling at her because she fasted, warned her tat he won't come home that night
- the inner turmoil shown when no one was around
- went for the ritual (after what transpired earlier, couldn't be faking)
- took care of her, caressed her when she was sleeping
- yelled at her again for cooking, when she is not well
- the RK style KC (could be faking but was later taken in the moment)
- dreaming about her when Dipali entered.
- sensed her being alone when at the farmhouse
- confessed his love (faking as he claims it to be but then why did he go looking for her, saying her name)
- then confession at the farmhouse (faking but yelled out when she was about to step on broken glass)
- was mean to the actress when Madhu failed the test, went back to drinking (may be he was upset that she was not truly into him)
- 7 phere proposal (faking as he wanted to keep the distance)
- made her mom reconcile with Malik
- accepted his mom's presence at the 5 year celebration party for her sake (not faking for sure)
- invited Padmini n Malik (may be faking to get into their good books)
- proposed Malik n Padmini wedding (faking but why??)
- they reconcile and then head massage scene (can be faking)
- got slapped by her mom, when trying to convince them for the wedding
- took her to a dream house (may be fake)
- took her in a sudden hug with tears in his eyes when she mentioned his dad's chair.
- got drunk and ran into a tree (may be upset that his plan will fail, but then goes to his mom so was genuine)
- took her to the lake (could be faking)
- her parents Sangeet at his house and then sent Madhu to spend time with them
- missed her when she was not around and tried to see her in the moon (who was he faking it for)
- saved Madhu from Balraj risking his life (that's when he realized that he had fallen for her real bad, again in situations like these only rage, love, fear dominate.. Revenge, jealousy take a back seat)
- arranged a lawyer to save Padmini
- apologized to Madhu (faking, as he went ahead with the revenge)
- picnic track (could be faking, but was scared for Madhu for a moment when the car halted all of a sudden)
- the unwedding disaster, where he made so many contemptuous statement that had me hate him till the don bhai emerged from the water like a dolphin.

So we see, that despite him claiming otherwise he fell for her in reality and realized it. But he cant let the woman who slapped a superstar, an uncrowned king, in his kingdom to get away with it and instead be a queen of his house and rule his life. So his ego decided to go for the kill and get his revenge, even if it broke his heart into pieces. He didnt know that Madhu will show up at work. It was tough for him to stay in her vicinity so the 3 day challenge and he left no stone unturned to make her quit. But we saw a hint of his real feelings time and again during the challenge.

I am not justifying what he did, but the way an egomaniac like him thinks! And both of them fell in love. He realized it but couldnt accept it till he felt threatened by a 3rd person. she fell for the real RK, not the fake one.

Awesome post... I am sure all RK and Rishbala lovers have had the same thoughts... RK did fall in love with Madhu and he fell hard...

There are many other incidents to add to the already long list you have made, to show that he was not faking his concern, care and love. For example, during the village track, he talks to kaka, over a drink about the woes of being a married man - like a typical husband.Who was he faking it for then? He did not I think the magnitude of her hold on him became clear to him on the night in village when Madhu was ready to submit to him and he almost gave in. In that moment he realised that he had almost reached a point of no return and his ego took over.

I don't think that he had ever planned a revenge. He gave that twist to the whole thing after he almost gave in to Madhu on the night they spend in the village. Because before that, he was always in control, so he could convince himself that he had not fallen in love. But when he almost lost control, he realised that he had come too far. The whole revenge plan could also be triggered because of his fear of getting hurt. He did not want to vulnerable again so the only thing he could think was to throw Madhu out of his life.

On the day when he talked about his past with Madhu, on the lakeside, he said that the only rishta he made with his Dimaag was with her, so he trusts her completely. In dil ka rishta he has always been hurt. So now when he realised that the Dimag are rishta was turning into a dil ka rishta, he could not handle it. The only way out for him to send this relationship and the only way to do that was to turn it into a revenge drama.

Yes, I also keep wondering which parts would be faking, which parts were real. šŸ˜•

I agree with Jasper that it must have been a last minute decision.

(Basically the CVs wanted to go back to the original story, so they just gave it a big artificial twist, but I need to tie it in with the story for my full enjoyment šŸ˜†šŸ˜†)

RK is an egoistical man. But through his association with Madhu he had become softer, tender, mellow, even to the extent of putting her above himself. In the village, he must have become quite alarmed at how far he had travelled and that if he gave in to her now - he would lose himself forever. The village people also knocked his ego a bit, by not recognising him, not giving him enough bhaav.
It was self preservation that had him hatching that plan.

What about the going away plan? Was that true? Did he really want to go away? I felt he did - it was his idea, his dream that Madhu also eventually fell in love with.
The plan for the house? The way he was so moved when Madhu remembered his 'Papa'?
The money he gave away to his and her families? Was that real?
Did he resolve to push her away on the way back from the village? Because that whole conversation on the way back was so ominous.

Anyway, it was a stupid move - by RK and a very unconvincing twist by the CVs. Let's see where they take this.

That's why I support RK šŸ˜‰ RK is sarcastic, BBB king, sometimes harsh with his lines... but he is not bad 😳 Does kuttapana but is also suffering from loveriya šŸ˜† He loves Madhu like hell but can't say his ego to stay away from him šŸ˜• And I totally understand him because my ego is also as big as his ego šŸ˜›

the way i see it, somewhere after Depali came into the picture and he got shot, RK got lazy and revenge stopped being at the forefront of his mind. I'm not saying he gave up, but looks as if he just tucked it away for later. that's the only way i can explain away all the inconsistencies with his revenge; he's unconsciously done a lot of things for her with genuine intent, after which it seems as if he reminded himself from time to time that he still had that plan tucked away at the back of his head, so he'd do fake stuff in between the 'real' as reassurance that it was all still a 'lie' for him, still a game. like the confession, how much of that was fake? i don't even think RK would know, he's a convincing liar who's to say he didn't fool himself along with everyone else? but i don't believe he was actively planning anything until after Balraj Chowdaury came into play. he seems to be the precursor to bringing revenge back to the forefront of RK's mind. the most glaring proof being RK's strange behavior after MB almost died, i know they played it off that it was because he felt guilty about bringing Balraj back into their lives but that explanation never really sat well with me. at that point even if RK had minimal feelings for Bala he would've known about them instantly when he saw her almost die right before his eyes. and that's what i think happened, he realized he was developing a soft corner for her and decided she had to go. maybe it was due to his past experiences with relationship or his fear of losing loved ones. I don't think that the 4 slaps even mattered to him at that point, he just needed an excuse to push her away, and for him that excuse had to be anything other than the fact that he was falling for her. so he took his game plan into full swing with the weird stuff about leaving everything and getting married. finally, it feels like post the separation is the only time when his ego actually got involved. by now he seemed to have realized that he had more than just a soft corner for her, but wasn't willing to admit that he made the wrong call.

but yeah, that's just what i think. It just didn't always feel like he was actively plotting things the whole entire time, and if he was he sure was a lazy ass about it.

Post the separation, the very next day he was shown reminiscing in her memories and seemed to be quite aware of his feelings for her. I think he knew that he loved her.. And that realization hit on the day when she almost died.. (Those few seconds where he thought he lost her were the ones that changed everything)

He made the challenge because he didnt want her to stay in his vicinity, that's why he asked her during their drunk game that why didnt she go far away..
1st day of challenge, he massaged his foot
2nd day was running behind her with a lighter, after he stopped himself to insult her just because she started crying..
3rd day , he managed to tick her off
4th day, he lost the challenge and took her home in a drunken state
5th day after saving her from the creep, sent a water bottle for her
6th day was sitting at the chawl gate as a security gurd waiting for her to return, despite Trishna literally pushing him out
So basically, most days he was giving hints about his feelings to us..
