It's so cute how Yash is all gung-ho about getting all the preparations underway; he is the first one out the door, almost reading to get into the car, raring to go...until he hears Radha say, "Aarti Bahu..." that is. That's all it takes for his attention to shift. He hangs on to every word of his Badi Maa's suggestion, listening closely. Not one to miss out on an opportunity to spend some rare and precious alone time with Aarti, Yash immediately brings up his excuse.
This is what I noticed first as well -- the way Yash seems in earnest to get to the car and get going. But when Radha advises Aarti to stay behind, he stops in his tracks at the car door with an "Um, what?" written all over his face. So much for that initial plan of the mandir visit! And he's not complaining. He just comes up with a plan of his own, lol. As you mentioned, when we think back to where they both were a year ago after they were just married, I don't think either of them ever imagined he'd be as in-love with Aarti as he is now, willing to create any opportunity by his own will to be alone with her. But I think this is so Yash when he's in-love. If my fuzzy memory serves me correctly, he made similar attempts to get alone-time and attention from Arpita in flashbacks. He knows how to get his priorities in order, lol, but I think it's been some time since I've seen him as motivated as he is in this episode to be alone with Aarti.
- I know that Aarti can talk a mile a minute...Seeing Yash doing the same thing here is hilarious. He's so eager to stay home (I mean...help with the work) that he attempts to convince Pankaj exactly why the rest of them should go without him, speaking super-fast, as if this is a do-or-die situation . Aarti senses exactly what Yash is trying to do...but so do the others! They play along, with Pankaj telling Yash to work hard and work properly, while Yash spares a strained smile in response (LOL, Gurmeet's expression!) and immediately moves aside to be closer to Aarti.
Oh, I love that little knowing smile Aarti gives, cementing how well she's come to know him. On the others' reactions, that's how I read it as well. Vidhi and Pankaj are so on to him, it isn't funny. Well, actually, it is. 😆 Vidhi, in particular, makes me laugh because she keeps giving them the "I know what you two are up to" eye, lol. Even as they're driving away, she's smiling at Aarti. But it just shows how transparent Yash usually is with them and how well they know him. I think this plays into the jocular way they deal with their discovery of Yash and Aarti later on.
- Note that Yash backs away from the cars, facing Aarti; his back is to Ishita, blocking her out of his field of vision completely. She is pretty much a non-entity since she has no claims to his affections - we know that she thinks otherwise - and Yash understandably has his entire focus on Aarti. Ishita's eyes are trained on Yash and his interactions with Aarti...Her expression as she watches Aarti and Yash's little eye conversation as if it's hurting her so much...This girl is odd. Very, very odd.
Odd may be putting it mildly, Borna. Ishita is legit yet functionally cray cray. One pretty consistent thing with Yash so far in regards to Ishita is that he treats her like he treats his other sisters-in-law. And, as you rightly said, that's the crux of the problem for her. Any hint of affection/intimacy/closeness between Yash and Aarti, especially from Aarti's end, flips her brain. Out of everyone in the family, only she seems confounded by his quick shift in plans and his transparent cover. She doesn't seem confounded by the shift itself, but really by the motivation for his shift -- Aarti. In her mind, Aarti is the "other woman". It's an infatuation/unfulfilled need that has gone completely out of control with no help or encouragement from Yash. What might have bugged her the most is that Yash and Aarti (and Bua) would be alone in the house. Add to that, their silent conversation is a follow-up to Aarti's spontaneous hug and their "Mr. & Mrs." whispered conversation earlier. I think it's too much for her brain to handle in one go.
- Aside: That tune during Yash-Aarti's eye conversation! So great to hear it again! Yash keeps trying to catch Aarti's eye. When she finally looks up to meet his eyes and raises her eyebrows at him in a nonverbal question that I read as something like a "So...? Now...?" Yash is all like, "I managed to stay back here with you! Am I good, or am I good?" "You are too much, Yashji..." Oh, these two. Gurmeet and Kratika are pros at Yash-Aarti's eye conversations by now - they were already fabulous at executing them a year ago, when the first SR episode required them to convey everything nonverbally - and I think they do such a great job bringing in new nuances to every silent scenario they have to enact. Very cute!
I must confess that I didn't pay attention to the background music, so focused I was on Yash and Aarti. 😳 But, IA, on your reading of their little silent dialogue with their eyes and nods. He seems so pleased with himself on his slick exit from the trip, lol, and she's so amused. Yash, Aarti, and their flirting. Seriously, these two! Why so aborbs? Why? ❤️
I'm looking forward to reading your follow-up. I'll edit my post along the way as well.
