PART 4

I didn't have much to do after i came back from college so i decided to help aunty in cooking. I m not an expert in cooking but i can chop vegetables. I haven't talked to her for long time now so i went to kitchen.

" hello sweety " she smiled warmly and her eyes twinkled whenever she smiled just like Maan's.

" need help ?" i asked

" you know to cook ? " she asked dubiously

" well not exactly " i said quiet ashamed i mean some kids learn to cook in school and i know nothing except making maggi.

" then you can guard those delicious pan cakes from my devil of sons " she said pointing to a plate with pan cakes. An evil smile formed on my face can you save them from me ? i just love pan cakes but now i should very carefully keep an eye on them then i can convince aunty to give me one extra for my sincere work.

I was standing there leaning on the counter talking random stuffs when i heard footsteps.

"Thieves alert "aunt said.

I saw Maan and yash walking in. Both were smiling mischievously and i know that my pan cakes are in danger. Don't worry pretties i ll save you from that Moron Khuranna.

" mom our neighbor just now called saying that the beautiful aroma of your food is blessing their nose " Maan said over dramatically

" Don't butter me son Geet is in charge of pan cakes " aunty said pointing at me. Maan and yash looked me Maan's grin growing wider.

" yashu we are getting it today hands down " Maan smirked

Oh really Mr. Moron Khuranna!! You think so? I gave him a challenging look. This is not just pan cake but my respect. He thinks he can do whatever he wants with me well then let me tell you what messing with Geet means.

" so baby doll are you going to give that to me or you want to play it rough ? " Maan asked

" i ll make sure you don't eat even a single piece " i said confidently

" do i hear the sound of challenge " he asked folding his arms

" maybe ... i mean yes " ok i should stop blabbering

" fine then the winner gets the whole plate " Maan said

" but two against one is not fair " i said. Yash wouldn't be a threat but still i can't afford to lose.

" oh wait whoever wins is going to share with me ,right? I m kid be merciful " yash said. Wow i want to be a kid then you get everything and you don't have to fight for it.

" its one on one then " Maan said

" so whats the challenge? " i asked

" we brothers generally play video games but if you ..."

"that is fine with me " i said not allowing him to complete the sentance. Maan looked at me shocked. Girls and games are like two poles. He would have thought that i would refuse. But boy you are wrong.i m not any girl But Geet Handa.

" well ...ok... fine ... are you sure ? " Maan was so unsure about saying things. His expression was million dollar worth. I bet his expression when he sees me win will be much more entertaining.

We all sat in their games room , mind it they have games room with all possible indoor games and equipments for outdoor games. Maan chose some Zombie killing game. From his expression i know he thinks that i hate those stuffs. But the best feeling in this world is killing zombies. We both settled on either side of the couch facing the screen. Yash sat on the air bag near Maan. Traitor i thought he will support me. Radha aunty didn't want to see these 'stupid' zombie killing things so instructed us to play good and inform her once the game is over.

" ready? " maan asked

" absolutely " i said my eyes fixed on the screen.

As the game proceeded my confidence started to shake. Damn he was too good. I used to play a lot back in my place and i had defeated many including senior boys but some moves of Maan were difficult to tackle. Once i was so much impressed seeing the way he killed five zombies at a time that i got myself killed. You have to try hard Geet you can't afford to lose.

" drinks break " Maan said pausing the game

" yeah we were out in the sun draining our energy " i said sarcastically

" ok fine i ll call it pee break " he said winking . Shameless moron.

Maan exited the room when Ranveer entered. That called perfect timing.

" what is happening ? " he asked

" fight for pan cakes " yash said shrugging

" you are winning? " Ranveer settled in the place where Maan was sitting previously

Did he ask me that ? He has never spoken to me directly except if necessary and no sentence that he spoke to me had more than five words. I looked at him to make sure if he was asking me. He raised his eye brows in question. Ohk he wants an answer.

" kind of " i said

" whose team you are in ? " Ranveer asked yash

" whoever wins i get my share " yash said grinning.

Ranveer suddenly shifted near me in the couch taking me by shock. I stared at him as if he was a ghost.

" look here " he said taking out his phone from the pocket

" if you go right from this place you ll find a short cut " he said showing the game screen in his phone . Yash tried to peep in but Ranveer pushed him ." then if you press this key next ten zombies will be dead so you can easily reach finish line in less time "

Wow this guy actually knows the cheat code. Why was i surprised when Maan was killing zombies efficiently? That moron was cheating. Agrr now its my time to win.

" thanks " i said gratefully. But Ranveer didn't acknowledge. Arrogance what did i expect?

" ready to lose " i heard Maan's voice.

Lets see i smirked mentally. Maan sat on his original place when Ranveer shifted beside me. We began to play and guess what within next fifteen minutes i WON.Maan's expression was worth watching. He widened his eyes and it was as if he forgot to blink.

" how did you know that cheat code ? " he asked in disbelief.

" i m smarter " all credits to me .

" Ranveer !!" Maan glared at his brother.

" what ?! " he shrugged

" i thought we were in a team " Maan whined like a child

You guys had a team? No one told me. Am i all alone ?

" i m starving " Ranveer walked out ignoring Maan's glare.

" we ll set scores later " Maan said looking at me. He was glaring but it wasn't serious i could see mischief in his look. He walked out.

" so ? " i asked looking at yash.

" all pan cakes for ourselves." I giggled.

After dinner i and yash attacked pan cakes. We saved aunty and uncle one each and shared the rest equally.

" so partner see you tomorrow " yash said with handful of pan cakes

" yeah caption " i said

Then we both walked to our respective rooms. I noticed that the light of common balcony in the first floor was on. I guessed it should be Ranveer as Maan room was locked. He deserves one cake he helped me. So i went there and well i was right Ranveer was sitting with his laptop. Was he smiling at the screen?

" hey " i said quiet loud to gain his attention. He immediately closed the lid of his laptop. Something is fishy.

" yeah " he asked looking at me.

" i thought i should give you this cake as you helped me ." i said extending my hand

" thanks " he took the cake.

An awkward silence maintained. Should i start the conversation? Do i need his friendship? But he seems a nice guy unlike that Moron Khuranna who keeps irritating me. This is the third time he helped me. May be i should extend a friendship hand. If i m going to live here i need friends.

" so ? " he said after a long pause. Why is he sounding like that? may he doesn't like my presence here. He is not interested with my friendship .

" do you want me to go ? " i asked with uncomfortable smile.

" what? No..." he laughed and it was genuine

" i thought maybe you are busy " i said

" just talking with a friend " he said and slight excitement than necessary appeared in his voice and eyes when he said friend.

" so how did you like it here ?" he asked patting the seat near him asking me to sit.

" fine. There are many good things about the place and people but then ..."

" there is Maan " he completed my sentence.

" he is not bad but worst " i said. I know its his brother and that is why he should be aware of his actions more than me. Ranveer laughed and i know he agrees with me.

" he is quiet different not like me or yash " he said

" yeah by different you mean acting childish, playing pranks, irritating and being insensitive " i said

" why hate him so much ?" he asked amused by my description

" well i m not used to this. No one has ever picked on me. " i said

" you mean no one has ever given you this attention before " he said

That is good way of putting this dude. Not hurting my feelings.

" i don't know" i shrugged

" he is quiet crazy and we all are used to that you will be as well very soon. Just start enjoying " he said

This was the first time i m talking with Ranveer informally but it felt so natural and i was comfortable. Seeing his looks and attitude i thought he will be the last person i ll be friend with but i was wrong.

" i m glad that you are talking with me " i accepted genuinely

" what? " he asked confused

" i thought i can never get on good terms with you three brothers and it will be a hell here. But yash is already a sweet heart and now we are close to be good friends. I feel relieved. " i said

" i just don't talk much with people with whom i m not comfortable but you are too sweet to be ignored. You can count on me as a friend. " he said smiling
Good thing now i have more friends here. I feel very contented after talking to Ranveer. May be tomorrow will be better than today as far as my moron Khuranna does nothing to spoil it.

This chapter was needed to start Ranveer and Geet's friendship . Now almost everything is settled and i can concentrate on the leads.

Ranveer is as important as Maan and Geet in this story and so you have to learn to love him.
i want suggestions for Ranveer like any actor who could suit that . i myself am confused .
