Jodi name for Mihir-Tulsi
"This isn't normal," Payal exclaimed as soon as Arnav finished explaining. "This stuff isn't possible. There are no such things as psychics or mind reading phenomenon." She added for good measure.
"I know Payal but can you explain what is going on with me in the realm of possibility and logistics?" Khushi asked eating freshly plucked strawberries.
"If you are considering the possibility that you may be a psychic all of a sudden then why isn't it possible that you killed those people?" Payal argued.
Arnav and Khushi looked at each other and smiled sheepishly.
"You've got to be kidding me." Payal slumped noisily on sofa.
"I have considered the possibility that I am transporting myself to…wherever the victim lives and killing her and it has to be an alternate personality of me which is psychopathic and probably sadistic." Khushi offered her best guess.
"I believe that Khushi and the killer have an emotional connection. Khushi's parents are around to ask them if she had…you know…twin or a brother or something." Arnav said.
"Twins? Really? That's the best you can come up with?" Payal asked raising an eyebrow.
"I know how corny it sounds but you cannot rule out the possibility of shared DNA, physiology between twins which is highly probable. And the fact that Khushi has seizures when the killer is undergoing tremendous pressure due to anger or sorrow or rage or any other emotion exponentially could only mean that she shares a deep connection with the killer. And these connections do exist in much smaller proportions, which I agree, among twins." Arnav elaborated.
"Your explanation is believable than hers," Payal deadpanned.
"What's wrong with my theory? Everything actually fits. I see the murders happening in real time, there are no evidences in crime scene and there isn't a sexual assault because it's a woman who is the killer. See! It fits perfectly." Khushi argued.
"How would you explain phone calls? How did you choose targets? How did you know where they live, their daily pattern etc.?" Payal questioned.
"It could be my alternate personality which comes out whenever you aren't around. And you aren't around me all the time Payal so don't say that it isn't possible. I live in the same city as the victims so it's quite possible…" Khushi trailed.
"Where do you live?" Arnav asked standing next to map with a marker ready. Khushi walked towards the map and pointed her locality.
Arnav stood back several steps to see overall picture.
Khushi's house was smack in the middle of all crime scenes. If her house was the center, the victims' house fell on a loose circumference. It was too much of a coincidence to pass up.
"This is unbelievable." Payal said. She stopped Khushi who was about to say something with a look. "I can go as far as believing that there is a psycho twin out there to who Khushi is emotionally wired to and he telecasts live all the murders he commits. But that's where I draw a line. I cannot believe that Khushi is somehow telepathically killing those people." Payal ranted and walked back and forth in the small room.
"It's teleporting actually or even astral projections..." Khushi shut up when Payal glared at her.
"We have to meet Dr Sharma." Payal said. "Maybe we can find something when he performs hypnotherapy or whatever so that we can get to root of it all."
"Is that a good idea?" Suman asked who was quiet till now.
"We don't know yet. It came recommended from our doctor back home and Dr Sharma is a pioneer in this area. Apparently he was involved in training soldiers back in eighties when the border tension escalated." Payal replied.
"He was in army?" Khushi asked.
Payal shook her head. "I called our doctor yesterday and spoke about Dr Sharma a bit. He wasn't in army but he was consulting for them and such."
"What was he working on when he was commissioned by army?" Arnav asked frowning.
"It was top-secret and code clearance and above. Speaking about it is a crime, so even our doctor doesn't know." Payal shrugged.
"Can he be trusted?" Khushi asked.
"I really don't know Khushi. Either we speak to Dr Sharma here or we can go home and consult our doctor." Payal replied allowing Khushi to take the decision.
Khushi thought for several moments.
"Let's do it. The worst that can happen is there won't be anything in my memory which is hidden or forgotten or whatever. If something does exist then its good." Khushi shrugged not sounding very sure of.
"What did you say his name was again?" Arnav asked Payal.
"Dr Chandrakanth Sharma," Payal replied. "Why do you ask?" She asked seeing Arnav's expression.
"There was a Dr Chandrakanth Sharma treating my mother back when my father was alive. I wanted to check that's all," he said not revealing anything further.
Payal and Suman left the two alone and Payal said that she would get an appointment with the doctor.
After several moments, Arnav spoke to Khushi softly. "My mother is suffering from dementia." He said noting the questioning look on her face.
"Did your father worked in army too?" Khushi asked.
Arnav nodded. "I don't remember much of my childhood and I lived with my parents only during vacation. I studied in a boarding school and continued my education there after my father died in uniform. My mother became absolutely uncontrollable after that. My sister and my mother moved in with my grandmother and my mom continued to receive treatment at her house."
Arnav and Khushi were silent for several moments. "I lost my parents very young and they were in army too. We lived on army base and…I don't know those memories are pretty vague. I was almost twelve when I was adopted by my mother's friend. Life before adoption was very different and it's like…"
"…you are forgetting something important." Arnav finished it for her. She looked up at nodded. "I guess it happens to everyone when middle age kicks in. With passing days we cram so much of information both useful and useless that the important ones manage to slip by cracks. Like I said, I can't remember being six or seven. I can't remember my dad taking me to hospital after falling sick – my sister tells me about that." Arnav shared without hindrance.
"I hope the doctor is able to unlock some of my memories. Who knows what's hidden there?" Khushi said rhetorically.
"You almost sound disappointed that you don't have teleportation power," Arnav noted fondly.
Khushi grinned clearing the shadow from her face and making it pleasant. "Wouldn't that be cool?" She gushed and giggled. "If not anything, it would annoy the hell out of Payal."
Arnav chuckled. "I hope this ends up being a one off weird scenario. We catch the killer back home and you will be free of his thoughts." Arnav said desperate to induce confidence in his voice. Both knew he was failing at that.
"I hope so too." Khushi echoed his thoughts.
Thanks everyone for reading and posting questions and theories!
If I am not answering your question that's because the answers would give away the plot. Best way to get me respond is when you hypothesize probable reasons for the problems at hand and then I will check for its accuracy. That will make the whole conversation interesting and I won't feel like a total douche.
