Three years had passed since he had seen her last time, three years had passed since she had left him and never returned... He was shattered then, shed tears and had prayed several times wishing all these to be a bad dream but unfortunately it was not... It was true, these things were actually happening in his life... It was the harsh truth that she had left him forever... How could she do that!!... Left him!! Just like that!! Did she never loved him?? Did she ever thought how h would live without her!! No, she didn't, or else how could she have left... But she did left... Leaving him all alone...
The separation was not that easy to bear... In the initial days his family and friends had supported him, consoled him... But for how long could they stay with him, they had to move on... He was forced to move on, but he could never forget her... Her smile, her eyes, her words, her laughter, and the tinkling sound of her bracelet; everything had remained as fresh as they were in the college days...
She had never loved him the way he did... Or maybe she had never loved him... Never loved him?? The same thoughts again haunted his mind... Then what were all those smiles, all the trust, all the light hearted talks about?? What does that mean when she had said that he is the one who always manages to cheer her up, that he is the reason behind her every smile... Their date; when she had cooked all the foods on her own only for him... Was it nothing!! She had introduced him to her family... Was it nothing!! "You are a very special person in my life", she had said... Was it nothing!! May be they were really nothing, or else how could she have moved on after hurting him...
He had waited for three years hoping she would come back some day, but she didn't... And after waiting for all these years he is convinced she will never return... She has really moved on... With someone else... The news of her engagement never failed to reach him... "Dude, she is getting married", Benji held out the wedding invitation card before him... After three years of waiting this piece of news had once again shaken him... She is getting engaged to someone; she will be getting married to someone, forgetting him... But still he had decided to attend her engagement and meet her one last time... Yes, he will wish her all the happiness; she deserves that... He had always wanted her to be happy and sharing her life with someone else if she can be happy, then let her be happy...
The engagement day was fixed; the venue was brimming with flower decoration and the guests who were invited were wishing the future couple all the happiness and a blissful married life... He saw her; standing by her fianc, smiling gently at the guests but her eyes was searching someone in the midst of the crowd... She was wearing a pink and golden saari; looking beautiful as always, ethereal... It was becoming difficult for him to go in front of her, but he had no other option... He have to go, he have to meet her for the one last time... "Dude, come on", Benji clutched onto his shoulder to provide him moral support...
Holding the bouquet of red roses in his hand; he took the steps towards her... Red roses are her favourite... He remembered the day when he had first gifted her red roses; the soft gentle smile that had adorned her lips then is still fresh in his mind... With every step towards the stage all the pleasant memories of the past imaged in his mind... Finally he reached there; before her... Their eyes met... She saw him; she smiled... Her fianc turned towards her with an interrogated look seeing him with the red roses...
"Thank you", she said softly and turned towards her fianc...
"Rohit, meet him... My all time favourite student", said Tamanna Mam exuberantly as she took the bouquet of red roses from her all time favourite student Uday...
