Ishita's Plan Backfires
It was Aarti's baby shower and Yash wanted to show off with something unique. He had been corresponding with a manufacturer in the US for about 3 months now and finally the gizmo arrived. It was a machine that when strapped on to Aarti's belly would amplify the baby's kick and send out an electrical pulse. The gizmo had two electrical leads/wires coming out so that anyone holding onto the handle at the end of the leads would feel a small electrical jolt or vibration.
Yash immediately unpacked the machine and tested it and both he and Aarti were excited at how nicely it worked. At dinner that evening both of them gushed about the gizmo. Vidhi and Pari wanted to test it right away. However Bua soon put a damper by saying that they could feel Aarti's tummy anytime - and that the gizmo was for the use of friends and relatives who should not be touching Aarti's belly. In any event the baby shower was only 3 days away and they could try it then.
Ishita had a thought (😈) - what if she could amplify the current to a very high level and cause an electric shock to the person clasping the holder or Aarti's baby?
Ishi was excited she immediately got hold of her contacts who found her an expert electrician. She explained to him what was needed and the night before the baby shower she smuggled the device to the electrician. The electrician flatly told her that the wearer's (Aarti in this case) baby could not be harmed as that end of the gizmo was tamper proof. But haan he could increase the current level felt by the person clasping the gizmo's handle.
The electrician worked on the device for about 3 hours and Ishi took the tampered gizmo and placed it back in AarYa room.
The next day at the baby shower ceremony Yash proudly showed the gadget, applied it on Aarti and clasped the handle. Nothing happend!
Aarti: Yashji the baby is not kicking. It is probably asleep.
Bua: Not to worry Aarti dear. (Koi baat nahi Aarti beta). Yash just pass on the handle and who ever has it when the baby kicks will feel it.
And so it happened that the gizmo handle started passing around. Ishi made sure she was at the very end of the line. Finally the gizmo handle made its appearance by Bua who promptly handed it over to Ishita.
Ishita had barely held the handle - that she shrieked and fell down in a convulsion!! Everyone was stunned 🤔 . No one could figure out what had happened 😲 .
Side Note: Aarti winced at the baby's resounding kick! 😉
