Vivah Is A Winner , ASMM Set To Succeed , Don Is Superhit

This Friday will see the release of the long in the waiting Jimmy Shergill starrer 'Rehguzar' , 'Unns' and Bhagyashri's 'Janani' . All the three are set to fail at the box-office . Surprisingly the best business is expected from the latest Bond starrer 'Casino Royale' .
Openings of 'Vivah' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money' :- After the 'Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon ' goof up Sooraj has cooked up the perfect gourmet for his traditional fan base along with old warhorse Ravindra Jain throwing in the right condiments , musically . No wonder the Shahid-Amrita starrer sees a positive growth in collections as the week progresses . Released at Metro Adlabs and 32 other cinemas of Bombay { thru Rajshri Films(P) Ltd.}, 'Vivah' had a creditably good opening . Outside of Bombay the opening was good at places and very good at others . 'Vivah' has also managed a creditable ( for a movie of its stature and cast)$133,964 in the UK The other release of the last week , the Ritesh-Riya-Shreyas starrer 'Apna Sapna Money Money' , is a crazy comedy about a bunch of money hungry people . Released at New Excelsior, Minerva and 61 other cinemas of Bombay , the movie had a good opening . Outside of Bombay the opening was respectable everywhere . However , the movie has collected a dissapointing $15,750 in the UK Verdict :- 'Vivah' may be a slow film but its rich and very Indian emotional content and the conviction with which it has been made will make up for it . Given its intelligent release strategy ( limited release and limited shows) , it will prove to be a sureshot winner at the box-office on the strength of support from ladies and family audiences . It has chances of proving class A . On the other hand 'Apna Sapna Money Money' provides good entertainment for the masses and youth , the target audience . It will , therefore, succeed in its mission to make money , thanks to the cheeky/adult jokes . 'Umrao Jaan' :- Dutta's Abhishek-Aishwarya starrer has turned out to be one of the biggest debacles of the decade and has proved to be a damp squib at the box-office . Dutta , following 'Refugee' and 'LoC' ( incidently , all three featured Abhishek) . It is also a setback for Anu Malik and the lead pair Abhishek and Aishwarya . The movie has already flopped in India and the Overseas and is fighting to avoid a disastor status . 'Don' :- Despite the fact that a section of the trade is sticking to its egoistic high by denying the ' 45 crores in 3 weeks' earnings of 'Don' and keeping its status very close to the similarly priced and budgeted '25 crore in 3 week' earner 'Jaan-E-Mann' , the Shah Rukh-Priyanka starrer is still fetching good shares . Who cares really as the numbers are out in black and white and the aware audience (which has lapped up the movie ) knows the truth and is not being fooled and we know who is becoming a real fool ! In the Overseas 'Don' continues its excellent run like all Shah Rukh Khan movies , irrespective of the banner . Needless to add , 'Don' is a super duper hit in the Overseas . 'Jaan-E-Mann' :- Sajid's Salman-Akshay-Preity starrer has had a poor week . The movie collected 1,51,40,826 from 114 reported cinemas for a total of about 25.50 crores in 3-weeks from India. The movie collected has also $904,630 in the UKVerdict :- 'Jaan-E-Mann' is at best a below average in India and will be lucky to cover its investment in the Overseas .
