KJo supports cousin Anushka Khanna
In attendance at her show were KJo, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
Fashion designer Anushka Khanna who also happens to be director Karan Johar's cousin, debuted at Lakme Fashion Week last season with a floral collection. This time the young designer's collection was a more vibrant creation. She presented a collection titled "Looking Through The Window" ' a melange of prints, colours and comfortable shapes, and in attendance at her show were KJo, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
Anushka, a graduate from the London College of Fashion, collaborated with London based artist Rewati Shahani, who works on images of buildings and birds for this collection. It's Shahani who encouraged Anushka to use the images in her collection through digital prints, appliques, intricate threadwork and beading. Anushka was also inspired by art deco window panes in vibrant colours. The palette moved from dawn to dusk and added to predominantly cocktail collection.
Ask Anushka about it and she adds, "I just wanted something young and fun. The idea behind this is that we are looking through the window from morning to evening, and that's my interpretation of what you see". As far as her famous cousin KJo goes, "I want my work to speak for itself. Right now I am focusing on that, but my brother has been very, very supportive," she said.
So is Bollywood beckoning her too? "This is only my second show, but I am always open to doing anything," she said.
