5 Successful Model-Turned-TV Actors

Whoever thought models only know how to flaunt their killer looks and worked-out body have clearly not seen this batch of model-turned- television actors.
They act, emote, cry and woo their lady love with equal finesse, all that, while looking worth a million dollar. They have captured the minds of young and old women alike through their acting prowess, thereby, dispelling the notion that 'models can't act'.
Let's look at the five best of the lot:
1) Abhinav Shukla

'Jersey No. 10', which aired on SAB TV, popularised Abhinav Shukla and 'Geet' on Colors made him a household name. After all, he had won the award of Mr. Best Potential in Gladrags Mr. India contest in 2004. Since then, there has been no looking back for this actor, who, also, has a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Is there anything better than good looks teamed with intelligence? His other shows include 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai', 'Hitler Didi', 'Jaane Kya Baat Hui' and 'Chotti Bahu- Sinddor Bin Suhaagan.'
2) Karan Singh Grover

Ever since this unbelievably good-looking actor made his TV debut in 'Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi' on MTV in 2004, his popularity has only soared. His character of a flamboyant doctor 'Armaan' in the show 'Dill Mill Gayye' made him a star and his current show 'Qubul Hai' on Zee TV has also been very well received by the audiences. And that's not it; he also has a Karan Protection Squad, a band of fan-struck girls who are ready to take down anyone who says a word against the actor online! Well, that we say is quite some popularity.
3) Gautam Rode

What can we say about Gautam, except for his puppy-dog eyes and innocent looks that really make him very appealing. Plus, he is a great performer too. Watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saraswatichandra', which airs on Star Plus if you don't believe us. Apart from hosting 'Nach Baliye' and being featured in a couple of TV serials, Gautam, unlike his peers, started his career from a feature film 'Annarth' before shifting to the small-screen.
4) Karan Kundra

This talented hunk certainly doesn't need any introduction. Karan made quite a stir from his very first TV show 'Kitani Mohabbat Hai'; so much so that a sequel was made to the first show, on popular demand. He went on to win many TV awards along with his then real-life girlfriend Kritika Kamra, who also started her career with KMH. He was later featured in other shows like 'Gumrah- The End of Innocence' and 'The Serial', both on Channel [V] that further established him as a successful actor. Oh, and he is a businessman too who assists his dad in his family business.
5) Vivian Dsena

Meet the only TV actor ever to play a vampire on small screen. And boy did he rock it! His stellar performance and chiselled good-looks in 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani' only added to his popularity and he later went on to shine again in another Colors TV show titled 'Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon'. This Gladrags model has also done advertisements for many brands such as Levi's, Jet Airways and Pepe Jeans. If only he was not married. Sigh!
