The second episode was good just like the first. The bickering of Chanman reminded me of the movie Alaipayuthey. In the movie, the protagonists tease and irritate each other mercilessly at a wedding function but the guy seems to like the girl once the wedding function is over. However, in the movie, the male lead leaves a bad impression on his future FIL and in CC's our beautiful angel seems to irk her future MIL. It's interesting to connect a movie that I loved as a child to my beloved Sanaya's show.
Anyways back to the show. The introduction to this episode was good. I loved Chhan Chhan's glares and her attitude towards Manav. She was disgusted with Manav's sneezing fit which must have frightened her precious Puch Puch. Then, she gets irritated when Manav's mocks the presence of her puppy. She stands offended and enraged with the audacity of this man to mock her's and her puppy's names. But, it seems like Puch Puch is a smart puppy who can depict his mamma's (CC's) rage and he seeks revenge for her sake. Chhan Chhan gets sweet revenge when her puppy wets the trousers of the man who dared to offend both of them. She gives him a final warning and walks away with her pride intact as her puppy won this battle for her and showed that man his place. I loved Sanaya's expressions in this scene, she was marvelous challenging Manav. Manav is a sweet guy and this is why he took everything lightheartedly despite being irritated by the puppy and getting angry glares from the lovely lady.
The other bickering sessions with Manav and Chhan Chhan were cute. They gave a tit for tat. It seems that their best friends are also smitten by each other and maybe Chanman will have to help them get together. Anyways, I'm sure in due time the romance between Chanman will bloom and we will soon love this Jodi. Farhan is still learning but he is getting better.
Supriya madam was spectacular in today's episode. From her level headed attitude to Chhan Chhan when Purvi's father introduces them to her convincing Purvi's father that he is expected to provide dowry for his daughter, Supriya was at her very best. She has poise, attitude, arrogance, and some wave of power to get things done the way she wants them. I didn't like how she refused to listen to Chhan Chhan's introduction and instead talked about seeking for a traditional bride for her son. Little does she know that her future DIL is standing right behind her and getting a whiff of her MIL's uptight and rich mentality. Uma Ben warns her son to stay away from his middle class friend otherwise he might miss the chance of meeting the family of his prospective bride. But Manav is one step ahead of his mom and he has been unknowingly irritating and interacting with his future wife.
It's good to know why the five best friends took an oath against dowry for a better martial life. They have lost one of their friends due to the atrocious crime of dowry and the greed of her in laws. These girls have lost a precious friend and they are not willing to lose any more. Thus, they promised to never take or give dowry and fight against such crime. This oath is paying tribute to their lost friend and many other girls who suffered or lost their lives due to the cruelty of human mentality and greed. Maybe this is why the girls believe in sharing all their good and bad times and always contributing to everything that they do together.
Chhan Chhan learns that Purvi's marriage involves dowry and cunning in laws who plan to strip her family for more money. She recalls that this marriage is going against their oath and thus she seeks to meet her other friends and find a resolution. As she meets her friends, they decide to tell Purvi before she ties herself in a wed-lock that she may regret. Chhan Chhan makes a difficult decision in telling her friend than allowing her to be-wedded into a greedy and cunning family. At the altar, Chhan Chhan walks behind her friend and tells her about the dowry issue. It seems that Purvi will also take a stance against dowry and refuse to marry if her in laws do not drop the demands for dowry. Uma Ben seems to be infuriated by the audacity of Chhan Chhan to speak her mind against dowry. It's funny that she facing her future DIL in this debate and sadly even she will not get any dowry except maybe Puch Puch.
Sanaya's gave stellar performances in these emotional and serious scenes. I've always loved seeing Sanaya in a serious mood, so it was a delight to watch her in these scenes.
