Really confused!

Dont get me wrong, I really enjoy the serial, but am confused as to how the years passes by so quickly (eg Vishnu and Mahadev's stormy meeting) and now Jalandhar has become big so fast and our Ganesh is still a small boy??? somebody do explain.

In the episode yesterday Indra said that Jalandhar is growing up very fast. He will be an adult sooner than Ganesh.
