WHAT IS BAL VIVAH?
Getting Girl and Boy married before the age of 18
WHY IS IT A CRIME?
The married couple do not even know what marriage is so how will they follow its ritual and customs and try to manage it plus it deprives the girl from getting education

Many people say that Saanchi should get married to Jagya so that Singhs can have another Gauri to teach them but after looking at Saanchi's IQ level and the amount of understanding she has for life her marriage will be no less than a Bal Vivah for me except that she is educated...she knows nothing about house hold chores and relations and acts totally dumb and kiddish even for a 20-21 yrs old city girl...after her continous meeting with Jagya has brought a bit of sense in her but still she is immature to get married...neither can she handle the responsbilty of her husband and i doubt the husband would like to have her responsbility 😆

@ bold above, Sanchi is still in college (it is another matter that she forgot all about her studies and hostel since her brother's marriage), so marriage will disrupt her education. She may not know about household chores but she sure knows that the wife has to remember the identification marks of her husband.

I was wondering why do we say Sanchi is immature? Sligtly off the topic, but I want to look at Sanchi from a different perspective..(Don't throw stones at me.. it is my fictional interpretation of Sanchi's thinking…)

Sanchi is an abstract sample of prejudice and close mindedness in our society.

Sachi hates Anandi (don't ask me for logic. Sanchi has every right to hate a person. Right?)

No amount of logic and reasoning doesn't change Sanchi's POV. (In a free world, Sanchi is free to do that. Isn't it?)

Sanchi likes somebody like Ashima for her Babhi. Shiv's feelings and the ground reality doesn't matter. Because from her heart, Sanchi believed that Shiv and Ashima will marry. And she had many plans and dreams for the couple. Anything wrong in dreaming about a perfect Bhabhi?

Sachi beieves Anandi trapped her brother. Anandi has some vested interest. Poor Bhayya. He is in bad situation. He needs rescue. .Any problem there? Sanchi can do anything in her capacity, for the best interest of her Bhayya. But Sanchi won't do anything illegal. She does things that are technically Not Wrong, but in Poor taste.

Sanchi played the mock drama during Sangeeth. Did she say anything which didn't happen. She just interpreted it in her POV and presented it. That's her freedom of expression. Isn't it? She secretly wished Singhs to get embarrassed and to instigate problems and then Bhayya's Shyadi will be FLOP. Shiv-Anandi rishta broken. Family sad, brother sad,the engaged girl is sad.. but whats the problem? If it can open the doors for a more eligible bride like Ashima? After all, she wants to save her Bhayya from a horror marriage. Any problem in thinking like that? Sanchi is absolutely, fully, 200% certain that Shiv and Anandi are no match and an injustice is going to happen to Shiv. SO what shuld she do? Keep quite and cry? Don't attend wedding? Look for reasons and proofs to support her belief? She is spirited and she believes she loves her brother a lot… She has conviction in her belief that Anandi-Shiv marriage is not good. She thinks from her heart. And shouts out the truths.. Whats wrong in that?

Sanchi blurted out the truth that Anandi is a divorcee and a BV in front of the guests at KB. Some ladies left the function. Did Sanchi do anything wrong? She just told the truth about Anandi's past in front of guests. Is telling truth a crime????Sanchi gave an I told you so look to Ira.. Yes. Sanchi warned that disaster will befall..Anandi-Shiv marriage is disgusting..Shiv deserves a much much better person.. And now see. Other ladies also share the same thought. That's why they left the function midway. She doesn't think of ChiefMinister and the thousands of people who blessed the couple. Sanchi only sees the people who did not approve the wedding and quotes that as proof to Ira.

She tried to humiliate Anandi whenever she got an opportunity. But still she was not technically telling anything wrong. Anandi had experience of First night before. Anandi is busy with social work. Anandi doesn't know about Shiv's body mark. Can we argue with Sanchi on these things? NO. Because is Sanchi is technically right. How to make Sanchi understand the thin line between her freedom and others's freedom . How to make her understand the concept of poor taste? What option the family has?

They can- Try to drill sense into Sanchi's brain…and hope one day things will get better
OR
- Worry about Sanchi and try to defend Anandi and Shiv.. and meanwhile forget to enjoy the otherwise perfect happy moments.. OR - Learn to live with Sanchi and her attitude. Royally ignore her twisted arguments and encourage her rare positive behaviour. Basically enjoy the roses and avoid the thorns..

Choice is Shekhar family's as well as ours…
