I am not telling anyone what to do, just some friendly advice. Please read the entire message before you start telling me off :-)

We're all pretty sad that Pratyusha has left. Even the people who now support Toral must undoubtedly be missing Pratyusha at some level.

But some of the comparisons between the two ladies that are being drawn on the forum are a little harsh.

Toral and Prats might be involved with the same character -- Anandi, but they are two different people. They are two different actors. They will undoubtedly look different, and it is equally important to remember that no two actors will have the same acting style.

Individual experiences and resonances influence the way any actor emotes and responds to a script. Since Toral is a separate individual, her style will also be different from what Pratyusha's was. But that does not mean that one actor understood the script better than another.

But it is up to us, either we can remain unhappy, or we develop some patience. The cvs and producers must have seen something in Toral when they hired her, so let us all trust them and give her some time to prove her mettle. The cvs and producers have given us a fantastic show for many years, do we have any reason not to trust them?

Again, I'm not telling anyone what to do. It just makes me sad that people on this forum are clearly so upset. We all have more than enough worries in our own lives, I just want to reach out and tell all the disappointed souls that it's best if they just RELAX. Smile, give Toral a chance.

I must admit, when the Toral/Pratyusha change happened. I would watch each episode with a critical eye. I was jumping at the chance to point out every single thing that Toral did wrong. But then, I put myself in Toral's shoes. The poor girl is obviously struggling in Pratyusha's shadow. Imagine you enter a new workplace, or a new family, where everyone is talking about your predecessor's excellent work and not even giving you a chance to prove yourself?

And in the end, if someone out there just can't stand Toral, they have every right to hold their own opinion. But let the negativity not consume too much of your mindspace. Understandably, you've invested years and years into the show and the character... but what to do? Things have a way of changing just when you don't want them to...

Great post Blahdoo, well said and the majority opinion now seems to be veering around. There are some die hards, they will watch and not tell us, which is okay. Some, a very small percentage, will not watch I am sure, particularly in Eastern parts of Europe where PB seemed to have captured every one's imagination. But truth is young girls grow up, they don't remain innocent, goody goody all their lives and when they grow up they kiss and do things not so innocent. They don't say "Yeh mujhse nahi hoga" 😆

I enjoyed your post.

I'm glad to know I was 'wrong', but do elucidate? Was I wrong when I said that no two actresses will interpret the character the same way, or was I wrong when I said that some patience couldn't harm us? Or better still, was I wrong when I said that things change even when we don't want them to?

And for the record, it would be great if you read what I wrote. Twice over, I explicitly stated that I am not in any way trying to tell people what to do.

Please read and perhaps comprehend what's being said before jumping in with absolutist statements like "right" and "wrong".

If your post was actually sarcastic, then I apologize. Much like Sheldon Cooper, I don't quite comprehend sarcasm :)

Dear TM,

Bravo!

Thank you for your well written, rational and inspiring thoughts.

Pratyusha has moved on. The campaign to get her back has now turned into a campaign to diss Toral and BV. What a shame!

I hope many would actually be inspired by your words too rather than brushing it off because of the rage they feel. Its really sad when one cuts of their nose to spite their face. I firmly believe that we never stop learning and it's always better for the mind to look for positives rather than negatives.

Well sorry to disappoint u, but I dont think theres ABSOLUTELY ANY chance that those who are hating Toral now, will get to like her in the future. Bcoz, she acted her BEST in the confession episode and the car scene in the previous episode. When she initially entered, she was good in the strong bold scenes, but not so good in the oft romantic scenes. She needed to work on those. Especially the"shy" expression was missing from her.

But in the last 3 episodes she made tremendous development on this part, and her shy and romantic expressions were spot on in these 2 episodes. Her acting was just as good as Sid and their chemistry looked awesome.

But all those who still against her, said that they did try to like her in those episodes but still they failed. They are all saying that her acting was still terrible in those episodes. So u can just give up hoping that they will ever like her. They will never be able to judge her acting without their prejudice and pre conceived notions, and no matter how good she acts, they will never accept her. So u also have to accept that fact.

Good post Blahdoo.. As a Prats fan, I do agree with you that it'll be hard or near impossible to exactly imitate her.. Actually I doubt anyone expects Toral to do that.. Viewers are open to Toral bringing her own version of Anandi..

But here we're talking about Anandi.. The character essentially needs to remain the same.. She's a simple, kind hearted, empathetic young girl who has witnessed a lot of downs in her young life .. But now with Shiv, she's experiencing new highs of her life and rediscovering her chirpy past.. She's gradually shedding all the rough memories and making new ones that are filled with love for her ideal husband.. Would it be too much for us viewers to ask for atleast an honest portrayal of Anandi's feelings?

Toral might look different.. But why does she have to act different too? Isn't her effort at acting coy or embarrassed too visible for an experienced actor? Sometimes her acting seems so fake to me, to the degree that it irks me watching her carry a constant smile irrespective of the demand of the scene.. Besides, the high point - AnSh- no longer have the same magic.. This discontinuation in the portrayal of a hugely favourite character is what is causing the major resentment among members..

There are many members who immediately create threads praising her act every single day, after the episode, regarding how she was spot on etc.. Yet the same members comment the very next day that she's improving and doing well.. How can one be perfect one day and still be improving the next? This only goes to show that they themselves aren't fully convinced about how Anandi is shaping up these days..

Nonetheless,, all said and done, it's great for those who have accepted the change and moved on.. They are free to enjoy BV as it is today.. For those of us who haven't been able to move on, may be a little latitude can be given to wallow and discuss in grief..😊

Well i am not arguing with u about the other points. But just wanted to make something clear here. After the first 2 episodes of Toral as Anandi, after she started portraying the soft romantic portions, no one , not even her fans said that she is "PERFECT". They all said that she is portraying differently which is good, but she needs to improve on her shy and soft scenes. It is only after the last 3 episodes that some people (including me) have called her acting perfect, bcoz thats what it was. We said that she has improved from her past episodes and her acting was perfect (only in the last 3 episodes, starting from that car conversation scene). It means her acting was perfect on that particular day according to the script. But does that mean she cant get better? Of course not. Of course she can still improve much more, but considering only acting wise, she was excellent in the last 3 days, and especially the soft and shy expressions which were missing from her from the first day, came for the first time and was spot on.

All actors evolve.. And it's very true that every day is not the same.. But there were threads even on days when Toral wasn't even average, to praise her nonetheless.. It wasn't just the first 2 days.. It has been such since her introduction.. As you said, she seemed perfect in the last 3 episodes.. So wasn't it a bit strange that declarations about her being the perfect Anandi be made before that?

Anandi is in a stage in her life when she's discovering what true love is.. So being a simple belle so far, her primary expression is expected to be shy and coy, tinged with excitement.. If Toral's "soft expressions" have been found wanting, can we blame members for not liking her act?

However I do agree that it's a subjective matter.. People have their own opinion, based on their personal expectations and are free to express them..I'm sure you'll agree that what might be good enough for some, might not be for others.. So isn't it better if we just let everyone be?
