They married each other for a twisted sense of redemption.They could not save their spouse, As a husband, Yash burned in agony as he could not avenge his wife Arpita,nor could he punish the killer Prashant. Arti died every second remembering how she turned blind in love that she could not save Prashant from himself, jeopardized Yash's life too.All this culminated in them taking the actions they did. Keeping the killer's family close would remind them of their failure and loving his son /daughters would assuage their guilt of leaving the kids orphans .
