A note to all girls (and boys)

So this weekend's episodes have been great. Yes, I've said that multiple times, on different posts and for different reasons. Why am I making this post again? I haven't been able to forget Saturday's episode. I know cases of domestic violence are (unfortunately) very common, but I fail to understand the reason why. What is it that makes a man think nothing of hitting a woman so brutally? Why is a woman considered so worthless that she can be made to bear the brunt of a man's rage, frustration and low self-worth? More importantly, why do women put up with it? Kavita Oberai seemed to be an educated woman who could easily have built a life away from an abusive partner. She'd even accepted the fact that her husband was abusing her and confided in her friends. Why then did they not approach the police? The murder didn't have to happen, and that makes it all the more tragic. A big applause to all women like Sakshi who don't put up with injustice in any form. May her kind multiply!

Note :

1) If you know someone in an abusive relationship, try your best to help them. It is not 'their' business, you are not 'interfering'. Sometimes, women need support to even stand up for themselves. Make them aware of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. Everyone deserves to lead a life of dignity.

2) On a related matter, because I always worry about the young uns, NEVER think you can reform a 'bad boy'. You can't, period. That is mess you don't want in your life, trust me. Love yourself enough to deal with a little 'boring'.

You might think I'm being too preachy, in which case you are fully allowed to laugh at me/flame me, as long as you don't ignore the content. 😃

Thank you! Pata nahin kyun, I just wanted to say it even if it seems like a lecture to some. But the fact that some people have liked this post is very comforting 😊

100% agree with you! Especially about the term "you can't reform a bad boy"! You must make sure you marry or end up with a "good guy"! Not all good guys are boring! To have a life worth living, you need to have a decent and supportive partner who will be there for you and with you! Not someone you have to hide from and put up with! If that is what you are left with, then that relationship is not worth being in!

I always believe that especially younger women embarking on life (personally I am married with a kid now, so I have already chosen my life partner) chose wisely so their life does not get ruined by a useless man! Trust me, we have ALL experienced a useless man at some point in our lives! The trick is to get away on time so it doesn't become a lifelong punishment for you, or worse still, you become another statistic!

@MrDarcyFan - Very well said. No one has it written on their face that they are good or bad. It is only a matter of time that will help us know the person for real. If he is good, u can have a great life.

But if he is not good, getting away is the best. He is not worth you.

A person cannot be worth you if he doesnt understand your worth.
