It was a rainy and cold day, in which Tej singh Bundela stepped out of the court room, charged with murder and attempt to murder. His eyes wandered among those gathered there.
Ichcha, with her eyes still filled with disbelief and horror... Veer, every line his face etched in anger... his brother and sister-in-law, their faces turned away from him in disgust... Tapasya and Mukta, their faces holding an identical expression of triumph.
His eyes lingered on them, the reason behind his misfortune. How he wished he had killed her! But no, the stubborn woman had even defied death!
He continued to stare at them, until he saw movements besides them. Turning his head, what he saw made his eyes bulge, and his face loose color.
His throat squeezing in remembered pain, he stared, unblinking, at Raghuvendra Rathore as he stepped in between the two women in his life.
Fear left him immobile as he watched Rathore place an arm around each woman; an avenging angel protecting what's his.
His eyes held a promise ā hurt what's his; you won't live to talk about it.

The skies had opened up, and the rain came pouring down.
He felt relieved, that this ordeal was finally over... that they can finally put this behind them.
Taking a step forward, he lifted his hand in forward, and watched as the Bundela's vehicle exited the court premises.
"We should celebrate" he heard Tapasya say behind him.
Turning to face them, he saw Mukta enthusiastically nodding her head in agreement as Tapasya smiled at her and continued "to celebrate new beginnings...our new beginning" she said.
Shaking his head, he replied "I think it'll be best if we get you home soon. It's just been a week since you were discharged from the hospital, Tapasya" he said firmly.
"But I'm perfectly fine. Really Raghuvendra ā" Tapasya began to protest.
"Ice cream" Mukta said, cutting into her protest, and what looked like the beginning of an argument "we should go for ice creams...to celebrate" she said, her face animated with enthusiasm.
Listening to their excitement, he could only shake his head in exasperation. "You want to have ice cream? In this weather'?!" he asked them, totally baffled.
"Of course! Ice cream in the rain...it'll be fun!" said mukta, looking more like a child than ever.
"Come on raghuvendra..."
"Please papa?"
He looked at them, the two women who held his heart. Mukta, her face alive with anticipation...and Tapasya, looking very much like the young girl he fell in love with in her excitement.
Both faces held a pleading look.
"As if he could actually refuse them.
God help him! He was being ambushed!"
Laughing at his thoughts, his smile grew when he saw their puzzled expressions.
"I just realized" he said, still laughing "this is going to happen a lot to me in the future as well, na? the two of you ganging up against me...making me do silly things?" he said, smiling ruefully.
"Probably!" laughed Tapasya, linking her arm through his.
"Definitely!" said Mukta, her laughter joining theirs.
Smiling, his heart soaring at the sound of their happiness, he places an arm around his daughter's shoulders, and tightens the arm which was linked with his wife's.
Together they stepped out into the rain.
"Ice cream it is then, my ladies"
