IMHO the problem is not the storyline post leap. The problem is that the viewers did not appreciate where the story was heading but got stuck on the fact she is married and therefore Adi should save her without thinking if that is what happens than where does the story go from there? If that's storyline where was the need for the leap?
If people stepped back and thought about it, what the post leap was showing continuously was that finding her is his salvation (an opportunity to rectify his mistakes) and therefore if viewers had given it a chance it would have headed back to Adi but this time TVS would have let her go so we would not have had a horrible triangle. That would have also allow them to move to new storylines.
Adi and Sugni were meant to be the lead of this show when it was conceived but soo many shows do not turn out how they are conceived. The problem here was that TVS not was shown as a typical Thakur who followed the old tradition but with more style and panche and Adi the knight in shining armour who saved the girl. TVS was shown as a positive character who genuinely fell in love and wanted to marry Sugni. Yes he made a fundamental mistake annd yes in life you don't always end up with the one you love but in this day and age you DO NOT end up with his nephew living in his home and turning his family against him. That was unacceptable to many viewers and from there it went down hill.
I think the show had the potential to become interesting once the TVS-Sugni-Adi had been resolved pemanently so it is unfortunate that the channel did not give it change.
Also I think channel needs to stop catering fo one type of viewers those that are only interested seeing young beautiful couples !!!! 6 packs and pretty faces does not make up for interesting charismatic characters who have screen presence and commend attention be it Gulabia, TVS ot TJS
