Alaka stands transfixed to the spot when the Panditji comes forward and tells AMmaji that the destruction of their family has started already and that it will affect all members of the family now. Everybody is worried. Ammaji asks Panditji on Sulakshana's insistence as to how the family could wipe away all the mistakes committed so that the family would stay out of harm's way. Panditji tells Ammaji that the only way to retribution was to bathe Alaka at the very spot with holy water of the Gnaga, so that all colours would be wiped away from her life. 😭😭😡
Shlok hurries to the market to find Meera who was buying gajras for her cousins. He tells her immediately about the situation and both of them rushes back to the house. a number of women, all carrying pots of Ganga water, are about to douse Alaka with the water, when Meera enters and stops them from doing so. She questions Ammaji and Panditji as to why her Mom has to pay for the mistake committed by opthers, when in reality she had just visited the new temple of Radha-Krishna. Ammaji tells her that it's essential for the continuance of culture, when Meera tells her that culture is to help people move forward not question their faith. On Ammaji's insistence, Akanksha pulls Meera away from the spot while the ladies bathe Alaka with Ganges water. 😡
Meera goes to the Pooja Room and questions Lord Krishna as to why he did not come forward to protect her Mom when she was accused wrongly. Shlok comes and tells her that God doesn't answer our questions, rather he tests us as to how we cope with crisis. He tells Meera that in this hour of crisis they have to take care of Alaka together and wipe her tears. 😭
In the hall, Sonakshi's to be-Mother in law comes forward and tells Ammaji that their family too has a lot of respect and name in the society and they follow all cultural traditions to the core. If Sonakshi hadn't been engaged to her son already, then they probably would have re-thought about the alliance. Everybody is shell shocked. Once the guests leave, Sulakshana tells Ammaji that her daughter will suffer due to mistakes committed by somebody else, Ammaji stops her and tells that from now onwards, everybody will take care to ensure that there are no mishaps in the house and everything regarding the marriage will be followed to the core. 😕
Meanwhile, the stranger is in his hotel room and seeing the colours on his forehead, he remembers how things have changed during the last 20 years. While he had surely left Benaras for Alaka, yet he was in the city for a different reason, to immerse the sacred ash of his dead wife.
Upstairs Alaka is sitting in her room wearing a white sari and crying, when Meera and Shlok enters and starts running after each other round the bed with Shlok complaining to Alaka that Meera, as usual, was teasing her badly. They make fun of each other but Alaka sees through their game and calls them to her. They come and sit down on the bed when Alaka tells them its her duty to help them move forward and not the other way round.😊
At that moment Ammaji comes to her room and Meera and Shlok departs. Ammaji comes to Alaka and tells her that being a mother, she is very sad and sorry about what happened today but that she had to do it because of culture and tradition. She further tells Alaka that 'agar har maa or saas ki hathon mein hota, toh koi beti aur bahu ki suhaag khali nahin raheti'. Excellent dialogue. 👏
Ammaji also tells Alaka that its very difficult to continue one's life after one's husband passes away, but then there's always the children to take care of. She asks Alaka to trun to Pooja and stuff to occupy her mind so that her days would pass peacefully. As she is about to leave, Alaka tells her that even after whatever has happened, she still loves and respects Ammaji as she used to do previously. Ammaji goes to her again and places her hand on her head and blesses her.😊👏👏
Next morning, Alaka is traveling in a boat on the Gnages and she's counting her the beads of her sacred mala, the stranger is also in a different boat. After some Puaj and stuff, he empties the remains of his wife on the holy waters of the Ganges and prays. 😊
After a while, both the boats criss-cross and once again fate brings Alaka and the stranger in front of each other. They both stand in their respective boats, staring at each other. 😕
Excellent acting by the cast. Nobody seems out of place. And the ambience and sceneries of Benaras and the Ganga have been captured brilliantly. The pace of the serial is also good. 👏👏👏
