'Sajid wanted to make me Sridevi' - Sonakshi Sinha

Sajid Khan told me that I'll have the look of Parvin Babi in Shaan and Sridevi in Chalbaaz. I searched for these films online and watched their videos. Those are beautiful songs. They have a special style from the 80's, which was interesting for me.

First, I liked the song when I heard it. I liked its situation. It's a very different type of song. And you know Sajid, he makes only super hit films and gives only super hit songs. (Laughs) I did Go Go Govinda. I liked that song; it was a janmashtami song, and there hadn't been a janmashtami song for some time. Such songs immortalize you. I mean, the song should have something special about it. It's not that I have to do each and every song that comes my way.

There's no secret. I work in those films that I'd like to watch as a viewer. When I listen to a script, I visualize it. And only if I feel that as a viewer I'd like to go to a theatre to watch this film, I do it. Otherwise, I don't.

Tigmanshu sir had come to me with a film earlier, but I couldn't do that one because I was busy with another shoot. I felt very bad about it. Then he came to me again, this time with Bullet Raja. I was happy that he was taking so much interest in me and wanted to work with me. I found the film to be exciting. He is a very talented director. I had like Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster a lot.

Each character in his films stands out. Whether it's a small role or a big one, the character stands out more than the actor. That's what I like. In Bullet Raja, I'm playing a modern-day Bengali girl.

In all the films that I have done, the characters have been larger-than-life. They have been over the top to a certain extent; they've had a lot of entertainment value. In comparison, this film is more realistic.
