A group of PV Mendicants belonging to India Forum have petitioned the Governor to move the Krishna Mandir from its original location to the site of Moonlite Bar.
A curious request if you ask me - however when I questioned the PVians they narrated an interesting tale!
It appears the mendicants were camped on the grounds of the local Krishna Mandir for two days. Each day they sat on the steps leading to the Mandir seeking alms. Their daily collection barely amouted Rs 5/- per person.
Yesterday following the closure of the mandir after the evening aarathi the group walked along the neighbouring area. While they were going past Moonlite Bar they were accosted by a man who gave each of them a 10,000 rupee note! They were all pleasantly surprised and asked the generous person his name so that they could pray for him. He informed them that his name is Akash Scindhiya and that he is the son of Suraj Pratap Scindhiya.
Now, anybody and everybody in Bhopal knows that Mr. Suraj Pratap Scindhiya has only three sons Pankaj, Yash and Prateek. And all PVian mendicants vouch that this man is not one of Suraj Pratap Scindhiya's sons.
They claim that it was Lord Krishna himself who in response to their prayers took form and provided them alms. They think that Lord Krishna no longer lives in the Krishna Mandir but in or around Moonlite Bar! So, they insist that a temple be built on the hallowed grounds where the vision of Lord Krishna appeared to them. Local pundits and sadhus have also joined hands with them. The signature campaign run by them has overnight garnered 20 milllion signatures.
All in all it appears that their request is valid and the bar should be demolished so that a temple can be erected on its premises.
