Himesh Reshammiya rocks Wembley

London, Nov 3 (IANS) Bollywood singer Himesh Reshammiya, who has 36 hit songs to his credit, rocked the famous Wembley Arena here with a show that had the mainly Gujarati audience dancing and even crying.

Said Farhath Hussain, who promoted the show: "I have got richer thanks to Himesh. The collections were excellent."

While singers like Abhijeet Sawant, Vineet and Wembley-based Indian singer Paresh opened the concert, television actress Sonia Kapoor from the hit soap "Heena" hosted the show.

In true Bollywood style, Reshammiya made a late entry wearing his trademark cap and opened the concert with his famous "Tera suroor". He kept up a constant interaction with the audience, including children, encouraging them to come on stage and dance with him.

"I don't mind if the British cops arrest me, but I want a few kids to dance with me on the stage," he said.

Reshammiya's father could also be seen dancing to his son's tunes.

His first concert at Wembley saw Reshammiya unveiling the promo of his film "Aap Ka Suroor - The Movie, The Real Luv Story". Directed by Prashant Chadda, the film is produced by Vijay Taneja with Reshammiya playing the main lead.

"Aap Ka Suroor...", which is set for release in June 2007, is said to be based on Reshammiya's real life story.

According to Reshammiya, it would not only be the most expensive film ever made in Bollywood, but also the biggest hit that Bollywood has ever seen.

He said next year people would see him perform without his cap for the first time.

Himesh announces his plans of acting

At last the moment has arrived that all have been waiting for. After the sundry talks in the last few days about Himesh Reshammiya's plunge into acting, the truth was ultimately out when Himesh made the big official announcement at Wembley that he is playing the lead role in his film 'Aap Ka Suroor- The Real Love Story'. Himesh will play his self in the film alongside two other actresses. The film will be produced by Vijay Taneja and directed by Prashant Chhadha, director of his music videos. He also added that the film would answer all the questions that people have been asking him for so long. "People have been asking me why I wear a cap, why I never smile. My own love story will be shown in the film. Like everyone else, I too have past. Some people have asked me why I always lose the girl in all my videos. I have reasons for this, and all those reasons will be shown in the film, which will release in June 2007. Both Prashant and Vijay thought that we should now reveal the mystery behind my personality and that's why I agreed to do this film. The film will shot in 18 countries and will have nine of my best tracks in the film. " Along with that he also confirmed the news that he will be launching his music school, called HR School of Music. The music school is expected to start in a couple of months and will be launched in Kolkata followed by Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.

Meet the producer of Himesh's debut film

By now the world [literally] is aware about the fact that Himesh Reshammiya, the rock stars, has donned a new cap [pun intended] of a hero. His debut film has been rather interestingly titled 'Aap Kaa Surroor The Movie The Real Luv Story'.

While it doesn't come as a surprise that the film is a musical with 9 fresh songs and the director at the helm of affairs is Prashant Chaddha, the man who has shot all the Reshammiya music videos, what does sound like a true piece of news is the identity of the man pumping money into the project. The name is Vijay Taneja.

Sounds unfamiliar? Well, to the world of film making he may not be a very known name but when it comes to organizing, promoting and hosting star shows abroad, Vijay Taneja is quite a reputed name. He is the name behind number of Bollywood shows across continents and comes with a strong goodwill. He is also the man behind recent overseas shows of Reshammiya.

He has earlier presented 'Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai', which was released earlier this year and starred Bobby Deol, Arjun Rampal and Amisha Patel in the lead. With 'Aap Kaa Surroor', he makes his debut as a full fledged producer for his dream project.

As per the maker of the film, 'Aap Kaa Surroor' would be the most expensive film ever made in India [roughly 75 crore] and would be shot across 18 countries. Another highlight of the film would be inclusion of a world tour in the script and a concert. For that, there would be some new scenes shot rather than using an archival footage.

Entire planning and pre-production of the film has been done and 'Aap Kaa Surroor' is being readied for a June 2007 release.

Himesh Reshammiya, the wonder whiz kid of pop music created a rage and "masti" during his recent concert at London. He displayed his musical skills by singing his latest hits. The venue was Wembley Arena where this mega event took place. Indian Idol winners -- Abhijeet Sawant and Debojit - accompanied him on the floors. Vineet, Paresh and Himani, the finalist of Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma also shared delightful moments on stage. Himani's voice initiated the concert with 'Om Namah Shivaya…..', followed by Reshammiya's super hit soundtrack "Odhni" from the film 'Tere Naam'. Reshammiya's chartbusting track "Jhalak Dikhala Ja" was followed by a couple of pop soundtracks from his album "Aap Ka Suroor". During this concert, Himesh displayed promos of his film 'Aap Ka Surror', featuring him in the lead role along with two new heroines. Himesh announced that the film is the real love story and will reveal many facts about his real life.

The film is expected to be released in June 2007 and will be a big budget musical entertainer. Himesh has the record of conceiving 240 songs in one year. His musical success has been phenomenal and reached to cosmic heights after the release of his first singing film album 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne'. It opened new chapters of musical success in Bollywood where the concept of "Sufi Pop" ruled the hearts and charts with thumping success. It was moment of glory and pride for him when he introduced his father Vipin Reshammiya, T-Series CEO Bhushan Kumar and producers of 'Aap Ka Suroor' to the audience. The moment was frenzied where listeners were enjoying to the hilt. Besides NRI's, the Britons enjoyed every moment of it and the concert made Himesh a super hit celebrity in London.

After working with Nadeem Shravan for so long, one hears you have switched over to Himesh Reshammiya in the film.
I have always believed in the fact that melody is the King and to suit the contemporary taste of today's youth, one needs to back it up with rhythm. Yes, I am working with Himesh Reshammiya for the first time because I am sure that he can give me exactly that. We know how popular he is today by looking at his record over last one year. The guy now has 33 back to back hit numbers behind him – can you beat that?

" Himesh Reshammiya may be going through a low currently, though strictly on relative terms, but he will quickly have another high. " - Nadeem Shravan !
