| The movie is not yet released but going by the promos, the Dhoom 2 look is really hot this season. When the original movie released, toned bodies, micro-minis and bandanas were also considered very hot. Now with the sequel all set for a mid-November release, youngsters are already aping the ultra glam grunge look. In fact Pepe jeans has already started retailing the Dhoom 2 clothes. So expect to see many gals frolicking by the poolside in beaded bikinis, while the guys sport colourful bandanas and tight-tees showcasing their rippling biceps. Everthing in Dhoom 2 is being aped from Aishwarya's bronzed diva look, to Hrithik's gold locks, Bipasha's graphic bikinis and Abhishek's distressed jeans screamsglam grunge, a look that's in vogue this season. Anahita Shroff Adajania, who styled all the costumes for this mega flick says. "My brief was simple, to create a grunge look and yet something that is very contemporary. So it's not a carefree look but there is a calculated casualness to the approach," she says. Anahita worked on a mood board for each star and accordingly planned a look based on their character in the film. "I gave Bipasha Basu a beach bum kind of a look. She has a stunning to-die-for figure so we designed printed bikinis with tiny beads. Her character is heavily into accessories and for this look we drew inspiration from the current trend: junk jewellery is in in a big way. So all those pretty beaded necklaces and big bangles are back. In keeping with her look, we made sure her hair was wild," she adds. As far as Aishwarya Rai is concerned, "We wanted to achieve a sun-kissed look. So we gave her a very bronzed appearance unlike her usual prettily made up face and gold highlights. Anahita says that internationally the informal look is very big. "Nobody dresses formal anymore. That's why you find stars wearing distressed jeans and crumpled shirts for men are also cool this season. Even beaded accessories are big for the men and sporting thin anklets is very in. None of the guys are seen sporting bold or bright colours. Faded colours and crushed t-shirts infuse a sense of calculated casualness. Hrithik has gold looks that gel with his sleek character. Basically the look has been created keeping the role of the actors in mind," she says. Anahita is overwhelmed by the reaction and hopes that the look will become a bigger rage once the movie releases |
