Leelaa,

this was SUPER ⭐️

Sorry I haven't yet read through the last two posts but I will. I was in no position to do anything after yesterday's very rousing episode. I nearly wept and was so moved.

You make some very interesting points.
Whenever Madhu gets very very angry - and it takes a bit to get her there because she's a peaceable girl - RK is cowed down, backfooted and instantly contrite. He cannot stand steady in the force of the gale that emanates from her.

Yesterday, like you say, his 'how dare you' was what was in the script not in his heart. He knew of course what he deserved. That slap and much more.

He was weakened yesterday, unmanned, shaken to hear her weep so bitterly. What he sought to achieve he only knows but he rushed after her, trying to protect her against the dark that she so feared.
But what is the cost of a bump on the shin compared to such heartbreak? How like a man to ignore wounds that his words, his silence can inflict and be so out-of-proportion concerned about a little injury to the flesh!

You have no right to care for me, she told him.
Again, there is no misunderstanding between them. Distraught as she is, she sees the care.
He confuses her, even now he gives her hope, she sees the gap between what the words are saying and what the eyes are saying but she cannot understand, like we do not: WHY?

Bappa has been appealed to, so something good will come of this - that is certain.
On the other hand, a more pragmatic sign that misery has been invested in, for a while at least: the creatives have gone to the trouble of recording 'Hum the deewane'

Many times, soaps thrive on misunderstandings. But the tension for the audience comes from the fact that WE know both sides of the story while the characters have only limited knowledge. Here, for two weeks it has been different. We suspect, maybe even wrongly, but we suspect there is more than meets the eye. Like someone on this forum joked, for the first time a nail-biting romance 😆
Let us see.
Bubble

Thanks so very much, Bubble, both for liking the essay, and for penning such a fabulous take.😳👏Star
