Pallavi shouted for Dev for third time…😛

Pallavi—Mr.Khanna aap aaj ki date mein bahar niklenge? …ya poore saal ka aapko aaj hi fresh hona hai…already we are late…abhi mujhe bhi ready hona hai… Kabir bhaiyya ka teen baar phone aa chuka hai…(getting no response) R u listening Dev...

They were expected to be at Khanna house…everyone being busy with too much work since last few days….Massi was complaining its been long every one didn't got opportunity to have dinner together... Dev-Pallavi had just returned from meeting already they got late due to raining throughout the drive & traffic jams caused by rains ... & to their bad luck the car broke down… Dev tried to solve the problem but failed…in the process getting drenched in rain...

Since they were closer to Pallavi's apartment…Instead of calling driver from Khanna house…or informing any1 else… Dev suggested they can wait at the apartment for a while rain to stop... in such weather it wud be difficult to even find a taxi…already its late evening…

Dev kept teasing her throughout the 10mins walk to the apartment how romantic it looks walking in rain… they were so much in conversation didn't realized car zooming past them…splashing all kinds of muddy and rainy water on them…😆😆😆

Pallavi (shouted)—what the hell!!..😡😡😡 ... yeh kya kiya… (she shouted at the long vanished car she kept rambling on )…andhe log gadi chalate hai…chalne wale log dikhai nahi dete…stupid people gaadi chalani nahi aati toh nahi chalani chaiye... aur aap chup-chap kyun (she stopped when she saw Dev was worse than her...with him being on right side water got splashed more on him……for some reason Pallavi cracked up she cudn't control her laughter the sight Dev made…🤣 ..he looked like a kid who had been playing in mud puddle…with all drenched up) 😆😆😆

Dev(trying to clean up his coat)—will u just stop laughing… (she continued laughing) finding it very funny nahi…(irritated)

Pallavi (composing herself)—Sorry…..But yes its funny 🤣 itne bade businessman ki aisi haalat 😆😆😆😆 (she cracked up again) I mean aapko baarish romantic lag rahi thi…(laughed) wonder now u will say same…

Dev(just shook his head)—ab mujhpar has liya ho toh chale …before another car splashes water on us…

Pallavi still laughing just walked ahead…

And now he was hogging her bathroom for the longest time...sighing she went back to make some tea…before they leave…

As she brought out tea… she called out to Dev again…

Pallavi— Dev aap andar kar kya rahe hai? 😕😕😕 Its been 10mins u are inside...ab aap bahar nahi aaye…toh, main andar aa rahi hoon…wonder what u are upto??

Dev—dat sounds tempting enough…😛😛 come on in…darwaza khula hai…

Pallavi (kept tea cups with a noise in frustration)—arggghhh!!! Dat was so cheap Dev….(Pallavi's cell rang again it was Rj this time…asking when they will reach….while she was chatting she saw even Dev's cell was ringing…she shouted again) Mr.khanna your phone is ringing…

Dev—Toh utha lo…just answer it…

Pallavi (irritated)—ofcours Sir, par aap bathroom se bahar mat nikaleiga… 😡😡 even girls get ready faster

She kept looking at the mobile, wondering if she should pick up…. It was a private number so she did not know who it was… and the boss mobile being answered by his PA after working hours would definitely raise questions….

Suddenly the mobile stopped ringing….Pallavi sighed in relief & went back to kitchen placing the cell on table…as she brought tea

Finally, Dev came out…

Dev—good!! Tea ready…

Pallavi – Wow!! You are out…mujhe toh laga aaj aap bahar hi nahi aaenge… (sarcastically) kar kya rahe the itni der??

Dev(smiled)—ab…going out with you…toh have to look good na!!

Pallavi—OUT ?? Mr.khanna hum ghar ja rahe hai…kahi party mein nahi… (she got up to leave to freshen up herself…but turned back) oh yes…The phone disconnected before I cud answer… but I guess u received a SMS after that…dekh lena…

Dev (picking up his cell to check)— got disconnected or were you dreaming abt me again😛 . (teased)

Pallavi (got hold of cushion from side & aimed at him)—very funny…wasn't dreaming…just it was from private number…thot pata nahi kaun hai… Agar office ka koi hota to…wudn't they wonder why I am answering your call after office hours…

Dev(sternly)—the day my staff starts gossiping abt me…will mean that I give them too much free time to think nonsense… that day I will definitely make their life hell…

Pallavi just shook her head…. She knows Dev can very well do that…as she passed on the tea…she cud see change in expressions in Dev as he read the SMS…

Pallavi(confused)—kya hua??

Dev(sighed)—nothing…its Maya…wants to meet tomorrow…saying there is something important…

Pallavi (casually)—OK…just let me know the time…main baki ki meetings reschedule kar dungi…

Dev(gave unbelieving look)—R u kidding Pallavi…I don't even want to see her face…aur tum mujhse time pooch rahi ho…😕😕

Pallavi (to lighten)—haan toh…shakal dekhne ke liye kisne kaha?? You look at her sandals 😆😆😆 …she has stylish one last time maine dekhe the…😛

Dev—ha ha ha…very funny…but seriously I don't want to meet her (sighed) pata nahi is baar kya kiya hoga…

Pallavi (calmy)—but I think…there is no harm in meeting…kuch important hai…toh shayad sach mein important ho…& we can give benefit of doubt to her….pichli baar ke baad kuch nahi kiya…So, you can listen to her atleast…

Dev(stared at her)-- 'You know I really don't like you right now…. You make me do things I don't want to…(sulked) Office me bhi you do same… Kaam karo! Meeting me jao! Yeh karo! Woh karo!😔

Pallavi (smiled…leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek)-- I know you don't like me… (she got up to leave) ab main ready ho jaun… before massi calls up again…

Dev (pulled her back hugging her from behind)—Need any help….

Pallavi (giggled)—thank u so much…(got out of his embrace.) aur waise bhi…I don't want to make you do things you don't like…

Dev—ahh believe me, I would Love doing that…. 😛

Pallavi just shook her head & left to get ready…

They were late for dinner, as expected 😆😆 …when massi asked for reason they kept arguing back and forth about who's fault it was…when Massi asked for reason… Pallavi got all support from everyone… Dev decided it was better to keep his mouth shut… 😆😆😆

Every one cud easily notice change in Dev…Gradually they cud feel a more happier Dev…..he used to interact with family more…..it was like they were getting their old Dev back….& they knew it had been all because of Pallavi… .

After Dinner Dev shared with Kabir abt Maya's message…

Kabir—Really…dats surprising…It is too quiet around her…kind of felt scary kahin…toofan se pehle ki khamoshi toh nahi… kuch aur nahi kaha Maya ne…why exactly she wants to meet…

Dev(sighed)--nothing specific. But I guess she'll probably ask… rather demand something…kuch chaiye hoga usse….. lets see….what she demands!!!

Next day …Dev himself called Maya…telling her if she wants she can meet him during lunch…in office, as Dev felt office as better option….not wanting to create a scene in public…

Maya greeted him smilingly…which kind of surprised him & he was suspicious too…she didn't had the look of anger which he had seen her during last meetings…

Maya (breaking the silence)—ahem…tum soch rahe hoge…why I wanted to meet u…

Dev(bluntly)—Nahi…main soch raha hoon ki, ab kya chaiye tumhe?

Maya—TUM….

Dev(confused)—excuse me!! (he thot he heard it wrong) kya kaha tumne ??

Maya—Tumne suna Dev…what I said…(taking a deep breath) I am sorry Dev… please forgive me…

Dev –for what Maya?? 😕😕 what do you want me to forgive you for? Kisbaat ke liye Maaf karu?? baar baar apne hi dad ko dukh pahunchane ke liye, baar baar mere parivaar ko takleef pahunchane ke liye… har baar meri zindagi ka tamasha banane ke liye…. For how many mistakes should I forgive you?😕

To Dev's surprise Maya just looked down guiltily & silently listened….

Maya—Har baat ke liye Dev!!! Tumne jitney bhi ilzaam lagaye….sabke liye I am Sorry…Sorry for everything… I did to u…(guiltily looked down) I genuinely apologise….bahut galat kiya tumhare saath…& …I know sorry kehna kafi nahi hai…par phir bhi …main tumse apni har galti ki maafi mangna chahti hoon…main chahti hoon ki tum…I mean hum ek baar phir…we give another chance to us…

Dev (interrupted)—ek min...I am not getting anything …tum kyun maafi maang rahi ho…(coldly) & to set things straight there is no US Maya…

Maya(she had tears)—Dev please…tum aisa nahi kar sakta… I'm really sorry. I really want us to give it another try…. I want to save our marriage…. I am still your wife…&

Dev (interrupted)—wow!! U realized it so soon… congratulations… bahut jaldi yaad aagya tumhe Maya…(sarcastically) I'm …I am really proud of you Maya…

Maya—Dev main… I am saying I am sorry mujhe nahi pata tha…tumne dad ke liye…itna sab kiya …tumne…

Dev(realizing)—Oh !! ab samajh aaya…now I am getting it…matlab, tumhe pata chal gaya

Maya (nodded)—Dev tum mujhe pehle bata dete toh …hum dono ka rishta aaj yaha nahi hota…tumhe mujhe pehle…

Dev(getting up)—There u go Maya!!..😡😡😡 .. aaj bhi tum maafi maangne nahi ….mujhe yeh batane aayi ho…ki har baar ki tarah its Dev khanna who is wrong…is baar ki galti Dev ki hai…the stupid, idiot, fool Dev is…usse tumhe in 5 saalon mein har pal, har waqt is baat ka ehsaas dilate rehna chaiye tha…ki tumse shadi karke kitna bada ehsaan kiya hai tumpar… tumhare dad ka business bachaya, wapis ussi position par khada kiya…sab kuch sambhala hai, kitne ehsaan hai uske tumhare upar… so that, tum usse pyaar karke…uska yeh ehsaan, yeh karz utaar sako…😡😡😡 but I am sorry Maya…mujhse aisa pyaar nahi hoga…jaha mujhe pyaar mere ehsaan ke badle mein mile… & if you are thinking…maine koi ehsaan kiya toh don't worry maine jo kuch bhi kiya Mathur Uncle ko apna samajhkar kiya...I am not expecting a Thank you from you…maine sirf apni duty ki...aur agle 5 mahine bhi karunga…

Dev (interrupted)--& what difference it wud have made?? 😡😡 Mere batane na batane se kya fark padta Maya?? 😡😡😡 Tumhari nazro mein toh main humesha hi galat tha…afterall maine tumse tumhare paiso ke liye shadi ki thi…anything & everything I did was wrong…just because aaj tumhe achanak sach pata chal gaya, what all I have done, toh automatically main sahi hogaya, sach janne ke baad tum humare rishte ko mauka dena chahti ho??Aaj achanak tumhe realize hua dat you have a husband!! Dats great!! (moved closer…& in a cold voice) Tell me one thing Maya, agar main yeh sab nahi karta, tab bhi tum aaj mujhe aakar yeh sab kehti?? Dev(silenced her)—You know what Maya, where we went wrong 😕😕 ….itne saalon se ek dusre ko janne ke bawjood, ek dusre ke ache dost hone ke baad bhi….hum ache pati-patni nahi ban paye…you know why?? 😡😡 Kyunki humari shadi mein "if" tha…humare rishte mein bahut bada agar tha…"agar maine tumhe sach bataya hota toh, agar tumne mujhe apna samjha hota toh, agar tum mujhe samajh pati toh, agar yeh; agar who;(his temper was rising) for God sake Maya!! Shadi koi business deal nahi hoti, they are not contracts, jaha har baat par clauses lagaye jaye…agar main tumhare liye kuch karunga…toh tum mujhe pyaar karogi…warna you will throw me out of your life…😡😡😡 & will treat me like a lifeless object… agar main tumhari har baat manta rahun toh main tumhari pati…otherwise I can go to hell…😡😡😡 .Now, I really wonder tumne kabhi mujhe apna dost mana bhi ya nahi…Mana hota toh, apne pati par na sahi dost par toh trust karti…how cud u ever think main tumse paiso ke liye shadi karunga…😡😡😡

Dev (surprised maya as he cracked up laughing)—bas ek mauka chaiya Maya!! 😆😆😆 Just one….U are on hell of a woman Maya…(composing himself) tumhe nahi lagta already u got enough…tumhari har galti ko maaf karna har baar tumhare liye sambhalne ka, is rishte ko bachane ka ek mauka tha Maya…par tum 😡😡 (sighed) tumne har mauka kho diya…Main tumhe har baat ke liye maaf kiya, mujhe mere parivaar se door kiya, mere ghar se door kiya…I forgave u everytime… yaha tak ki jab maine tumse khud is rishte ke liye ek mauka manga tha… par tumne who ek mauka bhi nahi diya….& now, now its too late…

Maya—Dev please…you cant do this…tum saara blame mujhe nahi de sakte…it was misunderstanding…aur…

Dev—bilkul nahi Maya, I am not putting whole blame on u …kyunki mujhe itna toh pata hai, jab ek rishta toot ta hai toh galti dono ki hoti hai… agar humara rishta toota hai toh kahi na kahi galti meri bhi hogi…I wont deny that…par ab bahut der hogayi hai Maya, …Main manta hoon, jab uncle ne shadi ke liye poocha tha it was surprise for me…yeh jante hue bhi ki jaisi patni, jaisi life partner maine socha hai…tum uske bilkul opposite ho, phir bhi maine is shadi ko dil se apnaya, khud ko tumhare hisaab se badla, par badle mein mujhe kya mila ? Dev—Do what Maya!! 😕😕😕 Ever thought about what you did to me? And what are you doing to me now?? Itne saalon baad, ek din achanak tumhe apni galti realize hoti hai, & you want me to accept u back…tum meri zindagi mein wapis aana chahti ho…its not possible Maya….

Maya—sirf isliye ki tumhari zindagi mein Pallavi hai, tum mujhe bahar phenk doge Dev…

Dev (angrily)—Pallavi, ko is sabke beech lane ki zarut nahi hai Maya…😡😡😡 agar who meri zindagi mein nahi bhi hoti tab bhi, then too I wont have accepted u back…Maya!! Meri zindagi mazaak nahi hai…ki jab chaha tum chali jao, jab man kiya tum wapis aajao….I am also a human being Maya!!..dont expect too much from me Maya…the least I can do for u is I can forgive u for everything….par Maafi se zyada aur kuch mat expect karo mujhse… Main ek aam insaan hoon Maya…just ordinary guy…tum jo chahti ho mujhse...main tumhe nahi de sakta…Tum meri zindagi mein wapis nahi aa sakti...

Dev—exactly Maya!! Main chahta THA ….us waqt main is rishte ke liye akele lad raha tha…aur jis tasveer ki baat tum kar rahi hoon I am not denying…us waqt main shadi ko bachana chahta tha….kyunki kahi na kahi mujhe is rishte se tab bhi umeed thi…par har baar tumne meri har umeed tod di… aur main is rishte ko nahi bacha saka…waqt ke saath maine jaan liya ki meri har koshish bekaar thi…main ek mare hue rishte ko zindagi de raha tha… tumhare liye apni dosti, apne care ko pyaar samajhne laga tha…but I was wrong…. I just cared you because you were uncles daughter….

Maya –No …you loved me Dev…aur tum mere paas aaoge Dev… I really want to give this try…

Dev(retorted)--& I don't…(turned the other way)

Maya left the office in tears….

Pallavi peeked into Dev's office…saw him leaning back in his chairwith his eyes closed…decided to not disturb him and walked back to her office…before she cud settle down…her intercom buzzed…before she replied she heard "Wapas kyun chali gayi?"

Pallavi—who main…I thot…

Dev(requested)—wapis aajao…plzz…

Though Dev himself called her back…but he just kept silent its been few minutes Pallavi just sat beside him…sighing to herself…she broke the silence…

Pallavi—U Ok!! (Dev just nodded…just kept staring out at nothing….remaining lost in thots…she tried to find out again) Are u sure!!

Dev still sat lost….trying to figure out what to say…he just stood up to walk towards the window…Like previous occasions Pallavi wanted to show her anger for always bottling inside him…how many times she has told him to speak it out atleast share it with her if, no one else… she knew Maya wud have surely said something which upset him…She walked upto him to ask him again…but was inturn got surprised instead of getting an answer found him hugging her…

Pallavi—U wont even tell me…What happened??

In response he just tightened the hug…Pallavi got her answer , she just hugged him back…She wanted to shield him from the world, everything that made him sad and hurt him. She knew he needed time…he will eventually tell her whats bothering him...

It was Dev's cell that broke the silence…it was Sid informing he is waiting for him to leave for meeting…

Pallavi just smiled & asked him to go…he needs to divert his mind to other things rather than sit & ponder what's disturbing him…

Dev was silent and absent minded the rest of the day…didn't even paid any attention in meetings which was so unusual of him...also he was irritable towards other people…. Even dragged Pallavi along to all meetings & appointments he had, even when her presence wasn't required since Sid was accompanying him…Sid looked curiously to Pallavi she just shrugged in response she doesn't have any idea… Sid tried to ask Dev too….but he just made Dev more irritated…

Finishing last meeting, she rescheduled Dev's next day appointments…knowing that there is a chance he is going to be in the same mood the tomorrow too and nobody would like to deal with him then….

As they were leaving after meeting, Dev surprised Pallavi again when he told her he doesn't want to go home…

Pallavi(surprised)—huh!! Phir? Where u want to go…

Dev(somberly) —Farmhouse chalte hai. I know kal office hai, & its not a weekend but still….

Pallavi (smiled)—Fine!!...just inform Massi or kabir bhaiyaa…

After informing Kabir, as they drove to farmhouse, throughout the drive Dev was silent…Pallavi decided to pick up some food from a restaurant because they were not expected to arrive mid-week so there would not be a lot to eat in the farmhouse…

Dinner was a silent affair unlike usually it wud have been…with Dev commenting she will make him go fat ; or just teased her while she cooked…She cud make out Dev was just nibbling food…

Later, as she brought him coffee she was surprised not to find him in the bedroom…she searched around found him sitting in the backyard…She sat beside him… keeping the coffee mugs aside…

Dev realized her presence only when she rested her head on his shoulder & Pallavi taking his hands in his….

Pallavi (breaking the silence)—Ab bhi nahin batayenge?

Dev (sighed… wrapping his both arms around her)—I am sorry!!! For behaving like Idiot whole day…I just…

Pallavi (laughed)—not like Idiot exactly !! (to lighten) but yes, now I am more used to the changed Dev… yeh khamosh Dev ko main bhool gayi thi…It has been a while since I saw him (in a serious tone) Now, tell me What is bothering you…u have been lost whole day….what's troubling u??

Dev(sighed)—Maya!!

Pallavi—dat I cud guess!! I meant to ask baat kya hai??

Dev(took a deep breath)—Maya ko sab sach pata chal gaya…pata nahi kaise…achanak she get to know what I all did for Mathur Uncle…unke business ke liye jo kuch kiya… She apologized & was sorry for everything…

Pallavi (confused)—she got to know, toh its good isme itna pareshan hone ki kya baat hai?…I mean acha hi hua unhe pata chal gaya atleast ab who aapko galat nahi samjhegi…aapko pareshan nahi karengi & kuch mangegi bhi nahi…

Dev(in a serious tone)—You are wrong…sab sach janne ke baad bhi, still she wants something…

Pallavi—matlab?? I am not getting problem kya hai??

Dev(irritated)—Problem yeh hai Pallavi …she wants me…(calmed himself) Maya wants me and her to be together again…(sighed)She wants to give the marriage another chance…Yeh maangne aayi thi woh….

Dev narrated what all Maya said… how she realizes her mistake for misunderstanding him…

Pallavi still trying to let everything sink in…she still cudn't believe Maya wants Dev back that wud mean… she dreaded even to complete the thoughts that were flashing in her head

Pallavi (taking her hand back which were still holding Dev's hand)—aur, aap kya chahte hai??

Dev (gave unbelievable look)—Are u out of your heads Pallavi!!! (Dev was zapped) Yeh kaisa sawal hai…I am surprised you are even asking me this….jaise tumhe nahi pata… (sighed) don't do this…don't even think on those lines…I know tum…(softly) Don't you trust me?

Pallavi nodded in yes how can she not trust the man who loved her more then his own life…. This was the man who defied all norms of the society and even the rules of his family to be with her….

Pallavi(taking a deep breath)—par phir bhi…I mean…hum chahe kuch bhi kahe…kuch bhi soche…you are still bound by her…she is still your wife & if she wants you back…she has every right to ask for…

Dev's temper rose almost shouted scaring her—she has the right!!! Oh really!!😡😡 (he stood up) Pallavi you are too much… Maya has eaten my head enough for the day… & if she was not enough…ab tum bhi…😡😡 .Pallavi are u crazy or what?? 😡😡😡 What u two women think of me?? Tum dono ko kya lagta hai…Main kya hoon…I am a fool…(his patience was already running low…he cudn't believe Pallavi supporting Maya) yeh baat maine Maya ko samjhayi hai…but I never thot tumhe bhi mujhe yeh sab kehna padega… Get this for once & for all…(holding by her shoulder) Maya ne apna haq bahut pehle kho diya tha… uske paas bahut waqt tha, bahut mauke the shadi ko bachane ke…Main bhi uske saath tha…but not now…I agree that I was her husband once lekin shaadi do logon se banti hai…do logon ke saath se banti hai…par phir bhi (almost shook her)…still I tried to fulfil every responsibility towards her when she shunned me away …Shadi ko bachane ke liye main khud lada…akele is rishte ko sambhala...sirf uske liye…apne parivaar se door hogaya, apne ghar se, apne sapno se…apni khushiyon se…apni umeedon se, apni zindagi se…Is ek shadi ke badle sab kuch kho diya maine…(he looked the other way) aur ab jab yeh sab mere paas dobara meri kismat, meri zindagi mein aaya hai,toh Maya usse wapis cheen na chahti hai… (sarcastically) she has right!! 😡😡😡 What right does she have to come back in to my life and demand such things…aaj itne saalon baad usse apne haq ka ehssas hua…mujhe laga tha usse apni galti ka ehsaas hua…par nahi, aaj bhi who mujhe galat saabit karne aayi…ki maine sach chupakar galti ki…fine, maine usse nahi bataya tha ki I am helping her, helping her dad…sach nahi batakar bahut bada gunaah kardiya 😕😕 …main nahi batana chahta…I didn't wanted her to feel obliged…Main nahi chahta tha…ki Maya kabhi humari shadi ko ek ehsaan samjhe…I never wanted…Main nahi chahta tha…who mujhe koi bhagwaan bana de…😡😡😡 par mujhe insaan bhi nahi choda… ek taraf who mujhse maafi maang rahi hai & otherside she had the audacity to say that you don't mean anything to me and I should forget about you!!... How dare she?

Pallavi never knew his anger wud go to such an extent…she had seen him angry many times but never so much angry… Pallavi just gently caressed his chest….

Pallavi—Mr.khanna Plz... itna gussa karne ki kya zarut hai…Maine toh bas poocha tha ki aap…

Dev(still pissed off) —Don't Mr.khanna me…mujhe laga tha atleast um mujhe itna toh janti hogi…itna toh trust karti hogi mujhpar….

Pallavi (interrupted)--& who refused…I never said I don't trust u…I just wanted to know…

Dev (angry)—know what!! 😡😡 That I am having second thots abt u & will think about going back to Maya…& leaving u all alone…

Pallavi(smiled)—Nahi…Somewhere I cud guess your answer…(imitating him) itna toh janti hoon aapko…I am just imagining how Maya faced your anger…You are really scary when u are angry…😆😆😆 (cracked up laughing) remind me never to get u angry… aapka gussa kafi khatarnaak hai… 😛

Dev—what main Scary??😲 Pallavi tum…(seeing her laughing he cudn't refrain himself from smiling) but seriously Pallavi, I don't trust Maya one bit…. Mujhe nahi pata what she will do now…she is too stubborn…I dread her reactions & actions… & if I know her she will not take things lying down… she likes to have things her way…. She might try every dirty trick on us…humko alag karne ke liye….har koshish karegi… You please be careful for a while….

Pallavi (kissed Dev on his cheek)—Yes Boss!! … Ill be careful…(in a serious tone) & yes, ek baat humesha yaad rakheiga …humare rishte ko hum dono yaha tak laye hai…aur anjaam tak bhi hum dono milkar hi pahunchaenge…& if ever a time comes to fight for our relation we will not give up like that….Not without a fight…😊😊 .(smiled)

He could not help but smile back…Dev was sure that even if it would come to the point were they had to fight for their relationship, for themselves, they would do it together….as long as they both are together they can face anything & everything…
