I've done my share of pleasing in Don-SRK

Says a wiser Shah Rukh Khan who turns 41 today.

Can you believe it? Shah Rukh Khan will be 40 plus from today onwards! But no worries, as the king himself says, "I don't feel more than 30 now that my back is repaired and people say I look young too," he says with a smile. He says the best birthday gift for him would be the health of my children for the rest of their lives.

Most actors who have worked with SRK call him a generous actor. Is there anything that he's insecure about? "These people say good things about me because they like me. I think the philosophy of acting is about giving, giving an expression, giving a take etc. Stealing a scene doesn't work. Personally, I have my share of insecurities which any normal person does. But as far as my stardom is concerned, I am completely secure. I have been here for too long. The first few years I might have been worried, but now with the kind of acceptance that I have got, I can't expect more!"

However, Khan is not happy with the kind of criticism that his recent release 'Don' has received. "I have no objection to critical appraisal, but if someone immaturely gives out the ending of the film or asks people not to watch a movie in their review, that's when I get a little disturbed. I am not like Mr. Bachchan who says critics are important. I know that only a few films like 'Sholay' or 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' can please all the people all the time. I have done my share of pleasing people. 'Don' was targeted at the young audience, which hadn't caught the original. I think those audiences have liked it. My son keeps singing the title song. 'Don' has done immensely well for an action film."

Ask him how he plans to celebrate his birthday and he says, "I am a reticent person. So there will be no party. I am going out for a couple of days. Anyway, I don't think much of birthdays."
