Thanks you friends for the comments and as few asked; this was not Maan's complete past but glimpse of it. There were obvious holes like Maan's father so will get to it at another time.
On a very serious note, I am quite disappointed with number of likes for this story. I have never cribbed or set any conditions before but fact is I am very de-motivated. I have two kids and a full time job and I take out time from my sleeping to write. I always give regular updates. At the start of this FF I promised one update every week and on an average I give two.
Initially I thought as story was similar to GHSP, there was lack of interest but now we have moved away from that…isn't it. Well I had planned two tracks post confession but now I have decided that if likes don't improve, I will cut short this FF after confession.
I have lost half of my readers since "VIVAH" and it is better, either I move to another story or quit writing for a while. Sorry to disappoint regular readers and I promise I will complete it to a point and maybe start thinking of another story.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please add ritzypm as buddy to gets PMs for this FF
Chapter 24 – Dono ke Dil Hain
Geet's PG
Geet woke up with start at the sound of the alarm and stretched her stiff self
"Gadhi…khoti…chair par hi so gayi"
(Donkey…stupid…slept on the chair itself)
But then her eyes fell on her handiwork
"Haye…acha lag raha hai na…pata nahi Maan sir ko acha lagega ki nahi…Maan sir"
(Sigh…it is looking so pretty…don't know if Maan sir will like it or not…Maan Sir)
Her eyes widened as she saw the time and ran to the washroom.
Maan's car
He looked at the bus stop where he had seen her first time. It was not raining today and sun was at its full force as he was late than usual. People mulled around as they waited for the bus. But even in that crowd he could see her standing there smiling at him…just for him…making him smile…

Dono ke dil hain majboor pyaar se
Hum kya kare meri jaan tum kya karo
Meri jaan, tum kya karo
KC
Geet saw from her corner of her eyes as her boss walked into his cabin.
"Babaji…please madad…aaj mujhe unhein thanks kehna hi hai"
(Babaji….please help….today I have to say thanks to him somehow.)
With the mission in her mind she took the package along with printed list of his appointment and moved towards his room.
Maan smiled as he saw her praying to her Babaji yet again from the window.
"Kitni cute hai yaar…man karta hai bas dekhta rahoon...oh teri, itni choti si baat karni thi bas Babaji se…avert your eyes Maan…kisi din zaroor pakad legi tujhe"
(Damn she is so cute man…I just want to keep looking at her…Oh Shucks, she had to talk such a small thing with Babaji…avert your eyes Maan…someday she is definitely going to catch you.)
He asked her to come in as he head the soft knock on his door
Hum to sanam tumko chaahe umar bhar dekhe
Dil ki pyaas kehti hai, aur ek nazar dekhe
"chun chun"
Maan smiled at the sound of her payal…it was really soft but then he was concentrating just to hear it before she broke his focus
"Maan sir…yeh aapki appointments…."
Maan listened patiently as she explained his day to him. He was so lost that it was few minutes before he realized that she was quiet but still standing and fidgeting with her dupatta. She looked nervous about something.
Dekho hamaara bhi haal, har dam tumhaara khayaal
Dil mein uthaata hai toofaan, hum kya kare
Tum kya karo
"Kya hua Geet…kuch aur bhi kehna hai"
"Haan…I mean…yes sir"
"Bolo"
He saw her hesitating and then opening a packet on the table
With shaking hands she took out a box and an envelope.
"Woh sir…sir…there are no words to thank you and the support you provided me in these last few days. I don't think….I don't think I could have managed to survive it leave alone work again if you were not there with me. Mein...mujhe nahi pata mein kaise aapko thanks kahoon…I am really thankful to you…thank you so much…Thanks a lot sir"
(Actually Sir…sir… there are no words to thank you and the support you provided me in these last few days. I don't think….I don't think I could have managed to survive it leave alone work again if you were not there with me. I…don't know how to thank you… I am really thankful to you…thank you so much…Thanks a lot sir)
"Geet…Geet…please ruko. Kitni baar thanks kahogi?"
(Geet…Geet…please stop. How many times will you thank me?)
"Nahi sir bas wo mein thanks"
"Geet…yeh box aur envelope mein kya hai…dogi nahi"
(Geet…what do you have in that box and envelope…won't you give it?)
"Ji Sir"
Geet gave the envelope to Maan. Maan opened it and took a beautiful card. It was obviously hand made. There was a beach with a big shell on the ground as sun rose from the water.
"Thank You Maan Sir"
Was embossed on the card with golden glitter. He opened it to see some wordings
"Thank you sir for guiding me, supporting me and being an angel
With lot of gratitude and heartfelt thanks
Geet"
Maan touched her name softly with his fingers "It is a beautiful card Geet and I am sorry that such situations arose which should not have. I am grateful that I could be of any help to you"
Geet smiled at his humble response and then forwarded the box
"Mein aapke liye zayda toh kuch nahi kar sakti thi Maan sir. Lekin, meri Maa kehti thi ki koi bhi meri tarah makhane ki kheer nahi bana sakta. I don't know if you will like it or not Sir but mein yeh aap ke liye layi thi."
(I can't do anything much for you Maan sir. But, my mom used to say that no one can make Makhane pudding like me. I don't know if you will like it or not sir but I got it for you.)
On one side Geet was really not sure if Maan sir will eat it or not where as on the other side her words evoked strong emotions in him. He remembered his own thoughts, dreams and talk with Daadima few minutes back and had to gulp hard to stop from expressing his inner self. What a coincidence it was that Geet had got the same dish which he was remembering just today morning. Was this another ishara of her Babaji? He could not even express what her gesture and this dish meant to him…
"Geet…I love makhane ki Kheer…it is my favorite dish and I will definitely eat it."
Geet was overjoyed at his words and excitedly said "sachi?"
Waise toh uski muskurahat ne hi uska dil bhar diya tha but Maan opened the box with full
enthusiasm. He took the first spoonful and licked his lips in appreciation
Lekar tumhaara naam, aise khoye rehte hain
Aaj humko deewaana hanske log kehte hain
"Wow Geet…it is amazing. Bilkul meri mom ke haath ki kheer ki tarah hai….aaj pata nahi kitne dinon ke baad meine itni achi kheer khayi hai"
(Wow Geet… it is amazing. Just like my mom used to make it…don't know after how long I have eaten such a well made pudding.)
Geet smiled at his modest words and her heart swelled with pleasure seeing him eat it with child like exuberance.
"Sach mein Geet…Daadima aaj hi bol rahi thi ki banati hoon…lekin I was getting late. And this is just like mom's….shayad tumne bhi utne hi pyaar se...mera matlab dhyaan se banayi hai…isi liye…it is just perfect."
(Truly speaking Geet…daadima was offering today only to make it but I was getting late. And this is just like mom's…maybe because you have also made it with same love…I mean attention…it is just perfect.)
"Sir, I am so happy you liked it. If you like it so much, I will always get it for you whenever I make it. I just wanted to thank you for..."
Maan stopped eating at looked at her with steady gaze. Geet was as usual looking down or would have seen the love swirling in his eyes as they stared at her.
"Geet…bas ab tumne mujhe bahut thanks bol diya hai. I will take you on your offer of getting me a portion whenever you make this dish. Now forget what happened including this thanks wanks…hmmm"
Geet nodded her head in acquiescence as Maan finished the kheer and handed her the empty box.
Geet went back to her cabin with a beautiful smile
"Maan sir kitne ache insaan hain. He helped me so much and how nicely he appreciated my effort. It was all worth to get up early in the morning to make the kheer for him."
Maan meanwhile caressed the card once again and kept it under the glass top of his table. He kept his laptop on it so that it was not visible to others but he could peek at it whenever he wanted. For some reason he just wanted it to be in front of his eyes and only his eyes. He was not ready to share this feeling with anyone yet not even with Geet herself as he knew she was not at all ready to accept these emotions.
Jis dil mein hota hai pyaar, kaise na ho beqaraar
Yeh dil agar hai pareshaan, hum kya kare
Tum kya karo
