Strega,
not sure if you meant that in all the episodes these days. But I did see it today.
Very bad situation to be in! Felt a little bad for her. :(

Non, no, my dear bee, it is not a case of "Now you are justifying the same stuff , so what can I possibly tell? 😆".

That is why I prefaced that para with 'On a lighter note'. My point is that as blatant inconsistencies abound in PR - and that diamond necklace one was a true howler that could not possibly be explained away - it is no use quibbling at much smaller snafus.

Moreover, as I had explained, this one need not be an inconsistency at all, for it is not impossible that Onir has earned enough to invest Rs. 7 lakhs in an FD. Then again, he would NOT have told Purvi about it, so this does not preclude or contradict her gentle complaints about the state of their household budget. See how I have come around neatly!😉

Finally, Onir is not really offering himself to the top hospitals, in fact it is the opposite. Waht he asks Purvi is whether she would like him to take up that kind of job, and then she comes out with her neat little line that she wants him to stay 'bada'.

In the same context, I think Onir is going to accept the Dean's post in that KV Hospital, if one goes by his telling Purvi that the hospital would now need a good Dean to restore its reputation. Then Mittal, who must be up to his eyebrows in the organ harvesting and trafficking racket, will get him into trouble, or at least try to. Plus there is the dire vengeance sworn by the disgraced Dean. Oh well, excitement galore awaits!

Devil's Advocate is having a counter argument "just for the sake" where you do not believe it. I'm not doing that. I believe and hence I am writing what I write. I am not being "Devil's Advocate", not at all.😃
Don't u believe what u are writing?

Ah bee, playing devil's advocate does not mean making an argument one does not believe in - that would be called prevaricating.

Popular usage of the term is when someone offers another side of the argument, either because one believes in the counter argument or merely to test the strength of their own original argument by examining the matter from the opposite end.

And yes you are right, examining both sides of an issue can be construed as "balanced" So a devil's advocate as he/she looks at both the pros and cons of an argument could be deemed as "balanced" or impartial if the sole purpose of the exercise is pedantic or even time pass.

And you are right again, I don't need an excuse to voice my opinion and yes, I do believe in what I have written, the only caveat being since these are TV characters and can change from day to day, I cannot with certainty say that my opinion will remain the same if the storyline and/or characters change tomorrow.

Sure Dr. Onir is not Purvi's doctor.
For me a wrong is a wrong and he is privy to that wrong.

Enjoy being a DA. 😃

Lol, bee, no covering up for the good doctor here especially after he offered Purvi her "davaaiyan" once again yesterday! Just extending a different way of looking at the matter, cranial exercise :)

A wrong is a wrong no matter what but he cannot be convicted when he did not actually commit any crime. Also, we need to define "wrong" here - lying to the family? The family is not entitled to Purvi's medical info unless she consents, HIPPA and all (basing it on US practices) so that would not apply as no truth that the family is legally entitled to is being withheld from them.

As for telling the truth for telling the truth's sake about the pregnancy, I have argued elsewhere that yes, Arjun needs to be made aware that he is the father of Purvi's child. There was an entire discussion on morals with Yashoda and the Gita thrown in and me dragging Kunti and Karna into it. The consensus then was to leave things alone and let sleeping dogs lie as disclosing the truth would harm too many people - the principle of greater good is legally valid as well :) so here too the good doc could potentially get off scot free with halo intact.

Looking at it fairly though, it is not Onir's truth to tell, it is his wife's, and can he be blamed for trying to protect her? He just devised a way to keep the truth from blowing up in everyone's faces. Devil's advocate again ;)

Now why did I not think of this clever argument? I have to hand it to
you, my dear. Satan would definitely pay thru his nose (if he has one
and is not like Voldemort) to avail of your services!!

The two of us had better set up a POP (Protect Onir Project) and see
if we can drum up at least a few supporters. I have done my bit to
explain the possible source of his sudden wealth (not that 7 lakhs is
'wealth' in today's India!) but I can see that anyone will be facing an
uphill task with a POP!😉There
are too many ArVi-philes of the obsessed kind who would happily carve
him up and bury him 60 fathoms deep (oh, dear, what a mixed metaphor,
but never mind!).

Dear Shyamala, as I have been playing his advocate, Lucifer better pay up dearly either through his nose or a promise to keep me from the brimstone, former probably would be easier especially if one foolhardily created a POP - one would be quartered and cast Lethe wards in an instant :)

Without going into any details of the story from hell, i simply wanted to make a few comments about all of your posts.

My two favorite lines from you Jhanvi, were "Purvi sacrificing, Arjun sacrificing, Onir sacrificing and Ovi accepting all their sacrifices like a Goddess," and Purvi's "puky sweetness".

Shyamala, ... when you said "with a faint lingering hope, that is getting ever fainter, that this benighted serial just might be wound up some time soon. Like by the end of 2013?😉" i was horrified to think that would be the date of it's official demise. 2013 has barely started, that would mean a whole year more?? It's unofficial demise of course, happened a long time ago.

And Amber I loved your line "The final knell gonna strike with the donation episode for the already Sinked Rishta!!!!!!!!!!"
...and in addition your suggestion for Ovi's pushing Purvi off the cliff but Purvi coming back with vengeance was intriguing indeed.

good going guys. Much more entertaining FOR SURE than anything even remotely portrayed in the once upon a time Pavitra Rishta.

Naava, missed you 🤗where have you been?

Purvi- Her character is butchered at such extent that even "Superman can't save it"She sacrificed Arjun,She left the city for her sister,She brought Onir to create some more drama n Now Finally Donating her Pyaar ki Nishani to the step sister of her What i can expect more from her!
Arjun-Lord may have mercy on him bcoz this guy is suffering more pain than Ovi n Purvi. The word Love has got him so much confused that he is being lost in different world where people like Purvi don't even care for his feelings(Arjun's character has stucked between two immortal ladies of PR).
Ovi-She can get everything by saying just a dialogue to her aai or purvi bcoz the Queen is making orders to her soliders that i need Prince Arjun by hook or crook. Now she even didn't left Purvi's pyaar ki nishani to take away from her(its Mandatory in place of accidental case) "Mahan banana Purvi ka kartavya hain aur us par Ovi apna hukam chala rahi hain"

Gaurav, the bold says it all 😆

I don't watch the show regularly bu tI watched it today as I was doing the update ...It's a horrible story line and it is going to get worse when they will show Purvi giving up her baby . Even Archana was spared when she took Soham back the last minute from Varsha's arms in the adoption lawyer's office ...
Why does Arjun keeps listening to Purvi ?
Even Manav totally refused to listen to Archana after he found out that Sachin wanted her to divorce her husband .He clearly said ' I will not let you sacrifise any more ". Right from the begining , Manav 's character has been very very firm about one thing ' I will not love anyone else but Archana ' .He has said this loud and clear to everyone ... To his mother , to Shravani ( the girl he was forced to marry , even to Archana , Archana's fiance Jaywant and more recently to Shravani's son ...No matter how much pressure was put on his , he stood firm on this stand ...
But Arjun doesn't even do that ..He does nothing actually .Just stays quiet and takes all the zulm that Purvi and Ovi pile on him ...
I don't like such spineless men ..Why is a talented boy like RD doing this role ???
It definitely looks like Onir is now the most importan tcharacter of PR ..In fact I think Purvi is second to him and then there is Ovi ...others hardly count ( specially Manav , Archana and Arjun ) .I like Onir .He is a very nice person but I hope he too does not becomes a puppet like Arjun ...
What Purvi is about to do ( giving her baby to Ovi without her knowledge ) is terribly wrong , immoral and even illegal ..There are no words to describe this despicable act ..The child protection agencies should be informed of this kind of an adoption where the mother who is about to adopt does not even know who she is going to be a mother of ...

Tanya, this is a crazy tale of 2 crazy teenagers (are did they turn 20 at least?) and the men who have had the misfortune to fall in love. Arjun is a goner, poor guy, has been since the marriage track. Purvi, poor girl, does not know if she is coming or going, and Onir is too busy catching up with his harried wife. Ovi is the only one happy in blissful ignorance.

Not sure what RD is doing in this show, maybe, staying back because of promises of better things to come?
