i don't think it is the way it has been stated in the article. i'm sure the media has contributed a lot of masala to the story. there must have been some small misunderstanding which the media has blown out of proportions. abhi definitely doesn't come across someone who can do this to visually impaired people just for money.

Here are my thoughts ... well I am not sure about the actual "facts" of the whole situation .. Going by what media says and how much I have seen of Abhijeet before, I can say with some degree of confidence that he is not money minded as we all have seen how money minded people are ... But again coming back to the article,I have some comments to make .. I do understand that there has been some miscommunication somewhere between the organizers and Abhijeet ... But can't people, just outta humanity, sing a few songs for people ? Since when have we started to give people their worth based on the amount that you get paid ? That is what shocked me the most in this article ... Abhijeet then goes on to saying that the people should have asked him to sing more songs ... I dun know how would anyone ask in such a situation ... Coz if he had denied it then, it would have been an even embarrassing situation ...

It's no one to blame but the MONEY !

the writers r just over emphasizing n using wrong words

The first Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant, who has been accused of behaving unprofessionally and backing out of his commitment of singing for a blind orchestra, feels he's being unnecessarily maligned. "I don't know why. But I'm constantly made to look like the villain when all I want to do is to work," says Abhijeet.

He continues, "I don't want to sound like a victim. But the latest example of my alleged villainy is that I agreed to sing for a blind orchestra called Udaan at Ghatkopar and then backed out from fulfilling my commitment. The truth is that the mediator, who is a cousin of mine, played dirty. I was promised Rs 1.5 lakh to sing a song with the orchestra. Of this, I finally received Rs 50,000. I went to the show, sang and fraternised with the orchestra. But as soon as I came to know that the organisers were unhappy about my performance, I refunded the entire sum to the organisers."

Abhijeet adds, "It was made out to seem that I was forced to return the money when the truth is I voluntarily gave it back. I later came to know the organisers had given Rs 80,000 for me. The mediators had eaten up Rs 30,000."

Abhijeet finds it hard to cope with all the negative vibes. "But I'm content with my career at present. I'm doing innumerable shows in India and abroad. I've sung the songs of a film called Mumbai.com. I'm also starting work on my second film."

About the controversy surrounding his secret fiance, Abhijeet clears the air once and for all. "Yes, there's a girl, who is a very special friend of mine. But she isn't my fiance, as some papers reported. She works for Jet Airlines. She likes to keep away from the limelight. Let's see what the future holds for the two of us."😉
