SHould movies be remade?

Do you think movies should be remade or not??? Why or why not???

Taking inspirations from those films is okay, but when the films are remade, they are often criticized for not being original or not being good as the original. Example, DON. I have never seen the original but I have seen Shahrukh's DON and I loved it! I didn't like the fact that it was being criticized for not being able to live up to the original. For someone, who has never seen the original it is easier for me to love this DON than the original. However, there are many out there who have seen both versions and who felt Amitabh's was better. I am sure that may be the same case, with Umrao Jaan, or Sholay, or any other remake that is gearing up for release and that is something I dislike. So I say no.
