Part 27

"Kriya?" Smriti called out as she entered their old apartment again.

"In here." Kriya hollered out from her room. Smriti kept her purse on the counter and went to Kriya's room. She found her, Vishakha and Naina sitting there just looking at the door, obviously whatever they were doing before had been put on hold for the moment.

"Hi Vishakha. Naina." Smriti greeted them then hugged Kriya. "Where are the rest of your friends?"

"Uh'They don't know yet." Kriya replied.

"What?"

"Actually, I was thinking of surprising them, you know? Like go to college tomorrow and just'"

"Yea? That sounds like fun. Alright, I'll go make dinner. Vishakha, you'll stay?"

"I wouldn't dream of leaving today, aunty." She replied with a smile.

"Didn't think you would." Smriti patted her head and left. In the kitchen, she started getting things out. Minutes later, Vishakha came out and took Smriti by surprise by hugging her from the back. Smriti turned when Vishakha let go.

"Vish? Are you alright?"

She nodded trying to hide her sentiments. "Thank you' for letting her come back."

"No. Thank you! She has people who care about her here. I was just trying to protect her. But I've learnt my lesson. She'll be more protected when she stays amongst you." Vishakha smiled at Smriti, wondering how a mother could have so many layers to their character. At that point, she wished her mother would be sweet like that to her too. But all she ever got from her mother was taunts. A tear almost escaped her eyes, blurring her vision.

"Take care of her for me?' Smriti sad, bringing Vishakha back from her thoughts.

"Pardon?" she asked back confused.

"There are some things she'll be more comfortable sharing with you than me. I won't be there with her always. I've tried to ever since she was little. But there are some things she has to learn on her own. Take care of her'"

It confused Vishakha to no end. Yet, she nodded with a smile, questions running at the back of her head.

She turned to leave but then stopped, half turned, just enough to get a look at Smriti. "Is there something I should know?"

Smriti took a second before replying, "No."

And Vishakha knew. There was something wrong. No mother would take a pause, hesitate, before replying to such a simply question. But if Smriti didn't want to reveal whatever she was hiding just now, then okay. She wasn't going to force her into. She was, after all, her best friend's mother. If anyone, it should be Kriya who asks. Therefore, she nodded and left for the room again to continue the gossip with Kriya and Naina.

Early morning, Rey entered the college feeling very lost and abnormally different. There was just a tingly feeling in him that seemed to be telling him something. He was being a bit cranky and he had no idea why. Ever since he woke up that morning, he'd been feeling indifferent. As if something big had happened and he had no idea about it. He paused at several occasions since he woke up to try and think if he'd forgotten something. He kept on coming up blank each time.

Finally, he had his way towards the rehearsal hall and put the music up, tied the cloth around his eyes so there would be no distractions. He was hoping he'd be able to shake off the feeling he was having through dancing it out.

*Imagine the Dil Se Re 2^nd time but without Taani?*

Once again, just like last time, he felt as if Kriya was there, silently, holding in the breath with fingers folding in a fist as if to control her heart beats. If only he knew that Kriya was once again actually there! She had walked in to relive few moments by herself before others came and she got ready to surprise them when she found herself lingering around the rehearsal room and found Rey dancing just like she had before.

With a teasing smile, she had walked in, to see if he would feel her again. Just when Rey almost touched her, she ducked and took off running before he would get the chance to spot her. By the time he had removed his blindfold, very certain that he has touched cold skin, there was no one around. Not in the room and not in the corridor. He mentally scolded himself for thinking about her when she was someone else in the world already moving on. Or so was his thought anyway.

Everyone sat in the auditorium. As per the notice on the notice board, the auditions were still on. It was assumed that Sharon put the notice up and everyone was upset that Sharon had refused. More than that, Swayam and Rey were still wondering where Sharon was and why she had 'winked'. They knew she was up to something. But neither of them could figure out what exactly.

"Next." Swayam called and the lights dimmed. He took the audition application to read the name of the next dancer auditioning when he froze. This couldn't be! When the spotlights on the person came on, he knew it was true. And more than shocked, he felt happy. This was not something he had expected from her. From Sharon!

He turned to look at the faces of others. They looked horrified seeing her on the stage auditioning for the place she was already offered! Then they too realized. If she was going to get this, she was going to get it the right way and maker her and others know that she got it because she earned it. Not because she deserved it. While they are both the same things, deserving and earning does turn out to be different things.

At the end, when she stopped with her last pose, calling it an end to the dance, every watcher stood and cheered for her. She winked at her Swayam and he knew this was what she had decided the day before. He could not have been more proud.

Rey and Swayam passed a look. Both of them smiled and together, they called it. "Sharon, you're it." Million dollar smiles were planted on everyone's places. After this, no one would ever question this decision. It was her and she earned it fair and square.

Sharon walked down the stage and was taken in by a hug from Rinni and Simmi. Nilesh screamed, "PARTY TIME!" while others congratulated Sharon.

They were walking out when Vishakha pulled Rey back. "Rey." He paused to looked at her. "Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Yea, what's up? He asked, not really sure Vishakha would want to talk to him since he figured if she had a problem, she'd go to Swayam.

When others were out of the auditorium, she said nervously. "I-uh'Actually' it's about Kriya. You know how she's still in touch with me?"

"Yea'" Rey replied recalling the conversation he'd heard on the phone.

"Can you meet me? In the basket ball court? I have something to show you."

He had just slightly nodded his head when Vishakha sprinted out not able to hold her smile in any longer.

She met Kriya outside. "Oh thank goodness! Don't you ever make me do that again! Do you have any idea how hard it was to keep my face straight when I so just wanted to grin and tell him you're back?!"

"Woah! The Nazi is turning emotional? When did that happen?" Kriya teased.

"When the Nazi was bit by Kriya and friends fever." Vishakha retorted back. Kriya laughed and a second later, Vishakha joined her.

Rey exited the locker room to forward towards basketball court when Taani spotted him and went after him. "Hey!" she called and joined steps with him.

"Hi." Rey replied back nonchalantly.

"So I figured out who that girl was!" She said thinking it'd make him happy on how resourceful she was.

"Good for you." Rey replied getting a bit agitated.

"And here I thought you'd be happy to know where she was."

They were out in the open and walking while Kriya stood wearing Vishakha's jacket and her back faced to them.

"Listen, I don't care where she is. I don't care how she is. She can be dying for all I care. And if you have anything or anyone else to talk about, then speak. Or else leave me alone." Taani stood horrified as if she'd seen a ghost. She wasn't shocked at Rey's words. She was shocked seeing Kriya and the smile from her face disappear in air as Rey spoke those words.

The horrifying look on Kriya's face was what horrified Taani. She was here! To meet him! And Taani could only imagine what Kriya must be feeling like hearing that from the person she was going to surprise! One thing for sure. It must be a terrifyingly horrible feeling.

She opened her mouth to utter and say Kriya's name so Rey would turn but she saw Kriya shake her head as her eyes begged Taani not to say anything and let a tear slip down her eyes and wet her skin.

And there she was! Taani. Standing between what to say and what to do. Should she listen to Kriya's unspoken words? Or should she tell Rey what had just happened? Not being able to think clearly, she moved her head from Rey to Vishakha. Noticing how she kept on looking behind him, Rey turned to see what she was staring at.

Seeing that Rey was about to move, Kriya quickly turned her back to them and holding in her whimper. "What? You've never seen Vishakha before? Stop staring. It's creepy." He told Taani. Kriya took in a sigh, glad that she had decided to wear Vishakha's jacket thinking she'd fool him into thinking she was Vishakha before revealing her face. That was the initial plan.

And look! She scoffed at herself. She had succeeded. He did take her to be Vishakha. Taani decided to leave, thinking Kriya would have to turn if she wanted to leave and Rey would see it was Kriya and not Vishakha. Thus, she let them alone by saying a little louder than needed so Kriya knew. "I have to go."

There's the update! I know. Shocking? There's happy part. And the sad twist to KriyAnsh. Keep that faith in me 😆 Continuation of this scene in next. If I had added that in here, the part would have gotten too longer. And you know. i love torturing 😈

Im out of breath! Don't know what else to say. Therefore, like limit 75. From next time on, I'm going to be increasing to 80 since PM list is 140 now 😳

ps: I have 10 minutes before I have to go to sleep. Gotta send out pmz as well. Therefore, not color coded. i shall do it later on if I get the time and not lazy..?
