Like i had said the other day, as it happens in all 4 Lions shows, the lover and his lady come to the bridge of love much later - what binds them together first is an emotional attachment and a subconscious attachment. Are Asad and Zoe any different from Arnav-Khushi? In detailing - YES, in spirit -NO.
Asad is conscious of his developed attachment to Zoe and that is why this sudden restrain and extra-cold edge has taken over him, where he keeps himself in 'restraint' around Zoe. He doesn't need to be told that he has feelings for Zoe. He knows it and he has complete conscious awareness of it. He is on the VERGE of falling in love with Zoe - just like a diver stands at the edge of a diving board, waiting to take that winning plunge. Asad is holding his heart back , which, he will have to let go sooner or later. But you don't get to question Asad's intensity about Zoe - like today, the way he roared at Dilaawar with a "Aapne jo Zoya ke saath kiya..." , it was enough to give you a sneak peek into how much Asad can feel for Zoe.
Zoe, meanwhile, has a subconscious attachment to Asad. Asad's ability to hurt her with a click of his finger bringing tears into her eyes, his ability to make her center her existence around him where she seeks his approval, his attention , craves for a 'Princess' treatment from him shows you that she looks beyond his six-packs and day dreaming about him. Its very very easy for Asad to hurt Zoe and that is how the emotional stimulus and response come in. Like today, Zoe's conscious mind believes that Asad doesn't care about her , but when Mariyam says that she has seen in Asad's eyes how worried he is for her, Zoe goes away on a plane of thought. Is it true? The issue is that Asad has so thoroughly convinced Zoe that he cares a fig about her that she too thinks on the same lines. Its only when Najma teases her about the turmeric paste, or she innocently questions Asad if he will also not save her , or Mariyam gives her hope that Asad cares a lot about her that Zoe's Asad alarm rings.
Sometimes, two people get into a relationship of attachment where acknowledgment and admission are pointless- you just know it that they will always be connected. Asad-Zoe are that kind of a pairing , where no matter when love happens, they are two opposite sides of a see-saw.
If a woman has the power over a man to make him lose his sleep, if a man has a power over a woman to make her cry even without trying - understand that they have an attachment which is beyond their control.
Its immaterial whether Asad never admits his love for Zoe or if Zoe fails to see beyond his facade and invests , sorry, tries to invest her heart elsewhere. They will always be bound to each-other and anyone who comes between them , will be unhappier than these two.
Asad and Zoe are not a love story. They are ATTACHMENT.
