~Laughter of two innocent souls~
Chapter 4
It was 10am when La, finally woke up. She stretched herself and then went to the washroom to freshen up. Through her actions, it was never felt that, that she and Arnav had a fight last night.Like everyday, La made her way towards the kitchen, when she noticed covered plates. She went towards the table and removed the cover from plates. She smiled a bit, then, she saw a note, which read :
Sorry sweetheart! I know, I am flawed, non-romantic person, idiot...but you are the only thing I have with me..which is perfect!Pls forgive me! I am really really sorry !
A big broad smile broke on her face. She made "its okay" face and sat down to eat her breakfast. She then, called him.
Arnav came out after having meeting with his boss. He was walking towards the office door...thinking about Khushi, when his phone rang. He saw La's number, and wished that she is not angry anymore. Quickly, he picked up the call and spoke..
"La, I am really sorry..I..", he was interrupted by her.
"Its okay ASR. I am used to it.", she made a sarcastic note. Arnav felt, as if someone has punched him hard on his heart. He never said anything to her..but, somehow, he was getting a confirmation that it was him, who was at fault...she then continued..
"Its okay...don't feel guilty anymore. I forgive you. Hope you don't break my heart ever again."
There was a silence between the duo.
She then spoke in a lighter tone.."Forget all about it Arnie baby! Its that you need to understand me. Don't worry! We'll manage🥱."Arnav smiled a bit. He thanked God that she forgave him. She then spoke again,
"Btw, I think, I should always get angry with you. At Least, I would be able to relish the yummy breakfast by my sweetheart Hubby!😆"she laughed and so did Arnav.
"Okay! I should be going now Arnie. Gym time. Bye!", she said that and hung up.
Arnav was about to say something, but she hung up.
He looked at the cut call. He thought she would ask him, about his breakfast but...anyways, at least she forgave him. He then, made his way outside the office and reached his car and found Khushi waiting for him..after all, she was his P.A.. She looked lost somewhere.
"Khushi..Are u okay?", he asked softly. She nodded in yes and sat inside the car. Arnav thought for a while...then, sat in his car and drove away with her. All through the way, Khushi seemed lost somewhere...and was looking at Arnav again n again. He got confused & parked the car at a side. He then, looked at Khushi & said..
"Khushi! Listen, if you have any problem and want to share...pls feel free to do that. I am not just your boss. Before that we are friends. Tell me, I'll try to help u at my level.", he assured.
She looked very serious.
'It must be about her family or his husband...😡', he thought. Before he could say anything, she broke the silence...
"Did you had breakfast?"
Arnav was totally taken aback from this question. All the way, he was thinking her life with that sh*t man...he was thinking that she must be totally broken from inside...she must be crying inside..But she actually asked him That question!😕
"Huh?😕" , he said.
She continued," Actually, I too didn't had anything since yesterday night. I just thought you too might not had it. So...just asked."
Arnav was taken aback from her response. A girl, about whom he came to know about almost few hours ago...was so much concerned about him! And La, whom he was married for past 3months from now, didn't even thought about same.
"Tell me! Did you had it.", she broke his chain of thoughts. He nodded. She pouted. Again, after a "kind of" long silence Arnav spoke in a jolly tone..
"Wanna have a brunch😉? On account of our new friendship and your new job..if you don't mind Ms. P.A.😆"
Khushi's face gleamed with happiness and without wasting even a micro-milli second she said..in fact shouted..
"YES!"
Her happiness, her excitement made him feel, as if he was taking a kid to Disneyland!😆 He smiled at her innocence and drove to nearby restaurant, which had a facility of same. They went inside & sat at a good spot.
"Niiccee place !", she exclaimed.
"I used to come here with my friends", Arnav told her. The waiter came by and greeted the duo...
"Good morning sir! You used to come with your friends...see, I still remember."
Arnav smiled and picked up glass to drink water .Waiter then continued," Anndd...she must be your wife! Good morning Mrs. Raizada!"
Arnav almost spit the water. Khushi, too was embarrassed. Arnav glared at waiter and corrected..
"NO..NO...She is not my wife. She is my friend..as well as my P.A. "
"Oh! Sorry sir! I thought...I am really very sorry!", he apologised.
"Its okay!", and he shooed away the waiter. Due to embarrassment, none of the two made an eye contact. They would have continued to be in silence, if his phone has not rung. It was La.
"Hey Arnie! How's my baby?", she cooed.
"I am fine La."
"Hmm...are you out somewhere? Well, whatever...listen sweets, I have planned for a movie and dinner tonite...I hope I can expect your presence🥱", she said.
"Ya sure La. This time, I won't make you angry! I promise!", he said.
"I know Arnie! Okay then, tonite's show..9-12.", she said.
"Okay! Done, tonite's show 9-12", he smirked and cut the call.
"Hmm...9-12 show. Btw, which movie? Jism-2😉😆", she laughed and teased the ever shy Arnav.
"Shut up Khushi!", he rebuked in a shy tone and both concentrated back to their brunch. Arnav was really happy...finally, things are going on a good track!
Both ate like they hadn't had anything for ages. After their stomach was filled, waiter came with the bill. He was about to give it to Arnav when Khushi snatched it from him.
"I'll pay"
Arnav pulled it from her hand..."Khushi! Give it to me! I'll pay!"
"I told you naa! I will pay! Its treat from my side", she said pulling the bill from his hand..
"Ms. Gupta!", he pulled it.
"Mr. Raizada:, she pulled it again! And their began their tug of war. Khushi pulled from Arnav...and Arnav pulled it from him...waiter became the referee.
"Khushii!"
"Arnav!" and both tore the bill into two pieces 🥱. Waiter sighed...took both the parts of the bill from their hands and spoke..
"You could have divided the money...not my poor bill.😆", he then, made his way to counter for another print...while Arnav and Khushi sat there... embarrassed yet again, by their kiddish behaviour. When the bill came, waiter stood at a distance and told them the amount. They decided it was good to follow waiter's idea, rather getting embarrassed again.😆 They, then quietly got up and went towards the car. They sat there for few minutes...looked at each other and then, started laughing.
They laughed really loudly...even the windows were closed...but still passerby could hear their laughter...laughter that seemed between the two friends who have met after years...who were laughing at their personal, old joke...Laughter that reflected the innocence of two beautiful souls!
