Sony and Ekta refuse to do away with the unhappy Kkusum star
| Anuj Saxena as Abhay in Kkusum |
| For better or worse: Shilpa Saklani (Kkusum) amd Anuj Saxena (Abhay) |
Looks like actor Anuj Saxena is rethinking about quitting the much talked about Kkusum. A few days ago the actor had made tall claims about quitting the show. But now it seems he has changed his mind.
The news of Anuj's plans to quit came as big shock to his fans and the television industry. He had walked out of the show a few years ago but was brought back. In his absence, the TRP ratings of Kkusum suffered drastically. Back then, the panic-stricken channel had been left with no other choice but to call him back.
The scenario is similar this time as well. Anuj made his announcement to quit last week. This time it was supposed to be actually happen. In fact Abhay Kapoor's planned accident in Kkusum was designed to explain his exit. The hunt for the new Abhay Kapoor was on in full swing but to no avail. The hitch is that the channel and the production house cannot find a suitable replacement for Anuj. An urgent meeting between the production house and the channel happened. Some say that the show would get pulled off the air if Anuj quit. Since Kkusum is Sony's flagship serial, the channel doesn't want to take any chances.
Apparently, a secret meeting was held with the actor…as a result of which the actor continues to shoot for Kkusum till date.
"Anuj hasn't quit the show," says Tarun Katiyal, the Set EVP and business head. He also adds that, "Anuj is very much a part of the show and will continue to do so." However, the Saxena camp is complicating things further by saying that the actor has no intentions of going back to the show. "Anuj has quit the show and that is final," a friend of his says.
Certainly there is a huge communication gap between the actor and the channel. Tarun Katiyal's statement differs from Anuj's version. So, what does producer Ekta Kapoor have to say about this drama? "There was a little confusion about this earlier but now it's confirmed that Anuj is not quitting."
Rest assured.
