He's Amazing ~ Part 58
Khushi woke up the next morning only to be greeted by the face of her sleeping husband. She smiled and closed her eyes; remembering the passionate night she and Arnav spent together. She turned to her side and looked at the clock. There was still time but she thought she should get up and get ready and then prepare breakfast. She held the blanket close and tired to get out of bed, only to be stopped by Arnav.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"I need to get ready."
"Its so early though!"
"Arnav, I need to get up."
"But why?"
"I need to have a long shower."
"Why?"
"Because my body stinks because of all the sweat and I feel sticky."
"Are you saying you don't like the remaining of my love making to you?"
"Arnav. You're being silly now."
"Let me make love to you again baby."
"Arnav, not now. We have to get ready."
"Why am I getting the feeling that you're getting bored of me?"
"Oh yeah! I'm getting bored of you, that's why I was prepared to stay up with you until 5am on a week day."
"I would probably have raped you if you didn't."
Khushi gasped and covered herself more fully. Arnav immediately realised what he had said and regretted it.
"Babe I was joking. You know I'd never hurt you."
"Arnav, never joke about rape! I don't care whether you're saying it to me, just don't ok?"
"Khushi, I swear babe, it didn't mean anything."
"It doesn't matter about that, just don't ok. Rape's disgusting and morally wrong and the men that do it are sick in the head."
"I know babes. I'm sorry."
Khushi got out of the bed without saying anything more and walked into the bathroom with her clothes. Arnav looked at the door, confused, not knowing what to take of what had just happened. He made a mental note to talk to Lavanya.
*****
Khushi had prepared breakfast for herself and Arnav. She ate and answered questions when she needed to and then left. Arnav tried to lighten the mood, but Khushi just wasn't lightening up.
Arnav left his house and made his way to the lecture hall. The class were already there and he noticed there was a note on the table. He picked it up and read that Sonia wasn't going to be in the lecture today. He smiled thinking that he would get time to talk to Khushi afterwards. Throughout the entire lecture he kept his eyes fixed on Khushi, but she never looked up. At the end, he called out to her, telling her to wait, but she didn't. So he decided to take the opportunity to talk to Lavanya instead.
"You wanted to talk to me jiju?"
"La, I need your help. I said something this morning and I don't know why it's got to Khushi and she isn't talking to me now."
"What did you say? It's not like her to get upset or annoyed at anything like that."
Arnav explained what he had said and Lavanya listened. She gasped when Arnav mentioned rape.
"Jiju that's why she got annoyed! You mentioned and joked about rape!"
"Lavanya, but why does it get to her so much. I said sorry and everything."
"Its just a few years ago, we were out and these guys came up to us and started saying things and when we tried to walk away, they said to Khushi that she should try them. Khushi slapped one of the guys and then he said that either she went to him willingly or he'd rape her."
Arnav clenched his fists.
"What happened?"
"They started moving in on her, I kicked them and then we ran! Since then she goes weird if we ever mention rape."
"Oh god, I'm so horrid!"
"No jiju it isn't your fault."
"La, how do I make it up to her?"
"Just take her somewhere nice. You know how soft she can be."
Arnav nodded and Lavanya left. By the time Lavanya reached her room, she opened the door to find Khushi sitting on her bed on the phone. She smiled to Lavanya, finished her conversation and then disconnected the call.
"Who was that?"
"It was Arnav. You told him then."
"Khushi, I know you don't like talking about it, but jiju was really worried about you so I had to tell him."
"I didn't say anything did I? I was going to thank you for talking to him and making him understand."
"Oh, right. You're welcome. So what's happening?"
"We're going out to have dinner in at the hotel we went for our first date."
"Nice. Oh the date which you didn't actually think was a date?"
"Yeah, that one!"
"So what are you going to wear?"
"Does it matter? I'm going out with my husband."
"Khushi, you have to dress properly!"
Khushi and Lavanya had their usual argument about what Khushi should wear. In the end Khushi got dressed in a short black western dress with a white cardigan and white sandals. She hugged Lavanya and then made her way down to Arnav's house. She knocked on the door and he opened it. He pulled her in and shut the door.
"How come you're not ready yet?"
Arnav held Khushi and pulled her in and began kissing her on the neck. Khushi moved back and rested against the wall. She held Arnav as he kissed her continuously. She was feeling intoxicated by the smell that was purely just him. When she regained her senses she pushed him off.
"What happened?"
"Aren't we going out?"
"Babe, I wanted us to go, but then they said they were completely booked for all night and I just thought maybe it would be better if I cooked you dinner and then we spent some quality time together."
Arnav winked to Khushi and she laughed. Arnav led her to the dining room and she saw that he had prepared all her favourite dishes.
"Arnav, you didn't need to do all this."
"Well I wanted to say sorry properly and you know I love cooking for you any way."
They sat down and ate their dinner. When they were both done, Arnav lifted Khushi off her feet and took her into the bedroom.
