Chapter Three

Arjun groaned at the amount of pain he was feeling as he woke up. He tried to shift his body, but felt weight on his left side. He looked towards his left and saw Riya sleeping peacefully snuggled in his chest. There was a small smile playing on her lips. He smiled and kissed her forehead which woke her up. Without opening her eyes, she looked up to where his face was. She slowly opened her eyes and saw the most beautiful sight ever. Arjun was smiling at her with the biggest smile he could muster.

"Good morning Jaan, How are you feeling this morning?" Arjun asked pulling her closer to his body.

"I am fine Jaanu, but shouldn't I be asking you that?" Riya replied with a raised eyebrow.

"I am good…" Arjun started but Riya interrupted him.

"Jab aapko jhut bolna nahi ata toh try kyu karte ho?"

"Yaar, tumhe hamesha kaise pata chal jata hai ke mein jhut bol raha hoon."

"Jaise aapko pata chal jata hai jab mein jhut bolti hoon…" Riya was saying when Rathore and Sameera came inside the room.

Rathod raised his eyebrow at her, and she blushed beet red and tried to get up but Arjun wouldn't let her. Rathod and Sameera shook their heads and laughed. Rathod took the plastic chair that was by the bed side and Sameera stood beside him. Rathod smirked at Arjun and pulled Sameera in his lap.

"Sam, yeh kya kar rahe ho tum?" Sameera asked Rathod while blushing like a bride.

"Isme sharmane ke kya baat hai…How can I let you stand?" Rathod asked cheekily.

Arjun and Riya smiled at the scene in front of them. Because of everything that was happening, Arjun forgot about his right hand and tried to move it and hissed in pain. Riya immediately leaned on her elbow and rubbed his chest with tears in her eyes. Arjun saw the tears in her eyes and smiled.

"Riya, yeh kya baat hui…itni choti si baat par ro rahi hai," Arjun said to her while kissing her forehead.

"Choti…yeh aapko choti si chot lagti hai..ha?" Riya asked angryily.

"Ab naraaz kyu ho rahi ho?"

"Muhje bilkul acha nahi lagta jab aap apni health seriously nahi lete… kitna dard ho raha hoga na aapko… aur aap ho ke…" She trailed off.

"Haan Arjun, acha hua tumne isse yesterday ko nahi dekha. Puri tarah se tut chuki thi…" Rathod started to tell Arjun but quickly shut up after noticing Riya's glare.

Arjun noticed the glare Riya was throwing at Rathod. He signaled Rathod to tell him when she falls asleep. Shree and Chotu decided that moment to enter the room. Shree noticed Riya's position as well as Sameera's but did not say anything. He just gave a look to Riya that said he will get her later. Rathod, Sameera, Shree, and Chotu stayed there for couple of hours, but around lunch time she forced them to go home because she knew they would be hungry and she knew that Arjun was getting tired and wanted to sleep for a while. Every one bid them goodbye and promised to return later. Arjun and Riya nodded at them. As soon as they left, Riya again snuggled into Arjun's side and commanded him to go to sleep. Arjun nodded his head and pretended to go to sleep. After he realized Riya was asleep, he called Rathod inside. When Riya told them to go, Arjun indicated Rathod to stay back because he wanted to know more about how Riya reacted yesterday.

"Sameer, kya baat hai? Kya batana chahate the Riya ke baare mein?"

"Arjun, yesterday tumhari halat dekh ke Riya ek dum tut chuki thi…" Rathod trailed off.

"What do you mean tut chuki thi?" Arjun asked with pain in his voice.

"Jab mene usse bataya ke tumhe kya hua hai…she screamed, 'He promised he would be safe,' and started sobbing and bawling….And when she came here to the hospital she did not talk to anyone, she just next to you holding your hand and stared at you until she was too exhausted to stay awake."

"Thank you for telling me this Sameer…mein janta hoon Riya muhje khud yeh baat kabhi nahi batati…" Arjun said with tears in his eyes and pain in his voice.

"Arey isme thanks ke kya baat hai…anyways mein chalta hoon…tum apna and Riya ka khayal rakhna…teek hai?" Rathod said leaving the room.

Arjun nodded his head and watched him walk away. Arjun looked towards Riya and just stared at her face. All he wondered was, "How can you love me so much, Riya?" He shook his head to clear it and kissed her forehead, once…twice…thrice. He kept staring at her and eventually fell asleep but before fully succumbing to sleep he pulled her closer and whispered, "I love you so much Jaan."
