Shah Rukh Khan is known to make compelling pitches. And though it may have taken a few more months than was originally planned, he has another win to his credit.
TOI has learnt that SRK will perform with Katrina at a high-profile show in Muscat next month. This would make the Jab Tak... couple's first live act together. While certain modalities remain to be worked out, sources close to the show say that the event managers are looking at February 14 as the possible date.
It was in November that this newspaper reported about SRK's keenness to perform with Katrina, especially at a time when Salman had been going to town with his Dubai show featuring Priyanka Chopra. At that time, Katrina's manager SandhyaRamachandran, had confirmed that the actress had indeed received two invitations to perform abroad which she was 'actively considering'. And while SRK's plans of hitting Dubai with Katrina right afterSalman's show may not have materialised, it seems he has been granted his wish. Interestingly, the pair will be joined by PreityZinta and AliZafar, a source from the event management team confirmed.
It may be recalled, that despite the high drama around PeeCee and Salman in Dubai, the show had eventually left a rather large hole in the organisers' wallet. It was an eye opener for event managers, who have now decided to price tickets reasonably and bank on the lead pair's chemistry. "Salman and Priyanka have no hit song together, and neither do they have a recent film to draw material from. This worked against their show here, despite the fact they put in considerable effort to make it work," said a source close to the earlier show. On the other hand, the Muscat organisers seem to be on a safer wicket.
"Shah Rukh and Katrina made for a charming pair in Jab Tak Hai Jaan," said a member of the events team there. "And we want to capitalise on it. It's all about business after all."
