This episode.. *shakes head* There was so much. For once, I felt for Stefan. My heart broke for him when Elena revealed that she slept with Damon not because of the sire bond but because she loved him. He definitely needed to hear that from her once to actually move on, but the pain he went through. </3 I honestly wish Rebekah had erased all the memories, all the love he has for Elena because he has no reason to suffer. He doesn't have to live knowing the girl he loves, is in love with his brother.
But what irked me, no matter how heartbroken he is, is the fact that he looked at Elena like she cheated on him. The reason for their break up? "She slept with Damon". What a lie. That was NOT the reason they broke up. They broke up because they BOTH wanted to. They broke up because he knew Elena had feelings for Damon and he wanted her to figure it out. Why does he think he can just pin it on her now? Sure, he tried to defend her after with the "she didn't know she was sired" but that's once again, evading the truth. Saying that, he threw the blame on Damon. He's not ready to accept that it's not anyone's fault. Delena love each other and that's that. And even worse? His suggestion to Rebekah that they work together because they both hate their brothers. 🤔 I swear I was so shocked at that. Shocked that he was comparing Damon to Klaus. Rebekah hates Klaus because he killed their mother, she hates him because he destroyed their family! Stefan hates Damon because Elena is in love with him. -_- Two completely different situations. I'm so glad Rebekah told him off. He doesn't even deserve HER companionship if he can't deal with his brother being happy.
Elena's confession though.. ohmygosh. <3 The way she realized how she actually meant it when she repeated it the second time.. that was adorable. <3 And of course, Damon's "come to me".. the urgency.. and then Elena's smile when she hangs up the phone. She was so content. So happy. <3 That's Delena. <3 For the first time, Elena has figured things out for herself. She's told Stefan the truth and let him go. And of course, she confessed to Damon. Things have finally fallen into place.
And i was going through the old written updates and from the last season, when Stefan leaves town with Klaus, I read a scene where Caroline and Elena talk about Damon. In it, Caroline was trying to assure Elena that it was alright if she felt for Damon because she was only human. I was so surprised considering the sudden transformation now. What, so if she's a vampire now, she can't have feelings for others? She can't be confused? I mean, that doesn't justify Elena's actions at all.. but it doesn't justify Caroline's either. =/
So.. that was take on the episode.. or my rant, you could say. 😆
