Not one can even remotely be called a romance or love story...or rom com!

Agreed! They haven't had a full on romance genre BUT they've had full on romantic moments in some of their films like their lovemaking scenes in Qurbaan, which didn't look or feel as convincing as she is with others, entirely a subjective standpoint here, it just hasn't clicked for me so far. I feel Saif has come to that realisation as well, I still wouldn't write them off completely maybe they can have a crack at it again later on but for now I reckon they should give it a miss :)

Aye, that lovemaking scene really wasnt all that Naj. It wasnt shot well either.

Saif had this frozen expression throughout, and she was just seducing him for some...weird plot to get that map thingie.
The whole portion was retarded tbh.

And by then, their lovestory was hardly built up to a point where audiences can even FEEL for Ehsan and Avantika.

You're told he just used her to get a greencard, so there's no love from his side, and Avantika obviously hates him coz..well...she got used.

You cant show a lovemaking scene without emotions.

It depends on how the lovestory is built up for anything to make any impact.

See the emotional quota intercedes the given script in a way that it galvanises the varied attributes associated, detachment yet educing chemistry, the determinants being the actors themselves to govern that tension

Desigal but that's the thing right, both Saif and Kareena are associated with vastly different phases and therefore for them to work together in a 'mature drama about the problems of a married 30+ couple' seems odd aswell. It's hard to picture Kareena as this well settled, habitual married woman and at the same time Saif is no longer in the age group where he can play a young man in love - so there is simply no connection either ways.

They really do make a better off-screen pair than on-screen..
I'm actually happy about this decision.. Their on-screen pairing just didn't work even if they were supposed to like each other in Kurbaan.
