why is it even important to discuss it here?

from what i have known kareena is not fake like many people- the people who hold utmost importance in her life she goes out of her way for them for instance saif's dad! she was close to him and she canceled all plans during his illness and death!

if she was not that close to shammi kapoor- she made her way by going there a day before and showing her side of respect for him- its okay! its better than being at his funeral and smiling like i see most celebs doing these days- acting fake!

About not attending FF its Kareena wish.

My mom likes Kareena and she was also disappointed in her for this act of her's for not attending the actual funeral and also Saif who is equally responsible for this.

Attending the funeral then is just out of respect and formality. Well she formally paid that respect the day before. What is she supposed to do? Put on an act of being devastated when she's not? She did as much as she HONESTLY could and then took off for her professional commitments. Why is Saif responsible? It's not his father's uncle.

You know what mattered to her? Her father in law's demise.
She cancelled everything for a week. Stayed with the family.
From before his death, Sharmila said Kareena was constantly by the family's side up until his demise.
That's called a bond.
And one dictated by love, not society and blood.

And I'm sorry, but Kareena never been a girl whos' ever done something just "coz you're supposed to" by society.

She lived in, she married a divorcee muslim man with two kids, she openly talked about the men she was with, she never put on a Sati Savitri image, she called a spade a spade, she didnt sugar coat...up until recently.

She plays by her own terms.
