Kolkata: Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar's condition is stable and he is expected to be released from the hospital in USA very soon, family sources said here today.

"Panditji was suffering from pneumonia but now his condition is stable," Robin Pal, a spokesman of the internationally renowned sitar player said. He also said that the 86-year-old sitarist is expected to be released from hospital very soon.

"There is nothing to worry. We have been getting calls from people across the country who are worried about the health of Panditji. With their prayers and best wishes he will come back home in a few days," Pal said.

Shankar, who was admitted to a hospital in San Diego is receiving the "best care. All I can say is that he is in the hospital and in the best care he can be. His wife Sukanya is pretty much at his side."

Shankar was admitted in a hospital in San Diego, California a week ago with some lung problem and had been kept under constant observation.

I was really worried since I last read about the ill health of the Maestro in the local newspaper... 😕

Thanks Kavita for sharing the good news about Panditji recovering from his disease... 😊
