Oh, you need to see more shows. We show forced marriages in all religions and that includes Islam. Its more to do with an archaic society than religion .

true i mean in real life i do not feel that if some guy has molested a girl her parents will forcefully get their daughter married to that guy just to save the family name in the society and not bother about the safety of their daughter i too felt that it was not correct. Although some families maybe conservative but in today's world atleast the girl is given the right to see the groom before she can decided whether to get married to him or know, atleast she has the right to take a decision for herself after all its her life you cannot force something on her...

Lets not have a religious discussion here. It's a soap and we all love it. I am not a Muslim but have many close friends who are . I think no one would think that way after watching a soap. As far as I am concerned I think today's epi showed that a father is soo adamant to save his dignity , he is forcing his daughter to get married to a criminal who raped her. Believe me such things can happen in any religion, Hindu or Muslim , does not matter. I think everyone in the forum understands that.
No offense. Just my POV.

The message I got after watching the show today and what Zoya conveyed to Mariam and the viewers of the show is

"Rape victims should report the crime instead of getting married to the person who committed the crime"

I feel this post may turn controversial. Honestly forced marriages happen in many different religions and not just Islam so need to get offended.😊

I don't think it has anything to do with religion but more to do with pride and one place in society.
I read aboutha situation in east africa where a young girl's cousin rape her because she refuse to married him, when asked about the incident he stated that by raping her he has taken away her choice, thus forcing her to married him or be killed.
We also have many Situation where to uphold the family prestiege and image a rape victim has been force to married their abusers, to save the family from shame, but this was mostly done in the 60's &70's.
I know for a fact that in many states n country if a abuse or rape has been reported especially a young girl and the family tried to make up the case the family members can be charge as accessory after the fact.
