A small number of changes will take place on this thread by tomorrow. Naming chapters, fonts etc. You have been warned ;)

Also, the credit for the music that accompanies the next chapter lies solely with a certain Goddess named Devi. She used it once, long ago, and it has not left my life since.

Me Me. Me.

I am first. Why ever that matters I don't know but I am celebrating.😆
I am perfoming my own tribal dance around a firepit, and singin' a tribute to the 3 little pigs.

Who's afraid of the big bag bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf.😆

Ok that's it. Now that the tribal cermony is over back to the business of commenting.

I am commenting only on Ch 17 in this post. The comments for the remaining chapters I'll post seperately.

Today's update for me was a perfectly orchestrated symphony with the frogs croaking akin to the trumpets, the winds whistle the wind instruments, the soft padded foostep had the beat of percussions, the melodious morning chorus the perfect strings, and the fog the pefect conductor under whose tutelage the whole orchstra played out. Adding to the orchestral feel was the fact that, you added a beautiful piece of music and made the update come alive.

How apt the words "divided we stand united we fall."
Individaully they play beautifully, but together their music turns dischordant.

When Geet said the words, "We were so focused on what to build that we forgot how to build it", I thought, they practised their music individually to perfection, but along the way forgot to build a melody together.

"He wonders whether he ever loved me. It hurt, of course it did. But I don't blame him. How can I hate him for voicing the question we've both been running from?"
The self doubt that creeps in is but natural, coz he can no longer find the piece they once played together so beautifully.

"There was something comforting, she found, in confiding in someone who had no reason to be there for you. She could tear away her soul and place it into the hands of this woman with the knowledge that it would be guarded for life."
When we look at our friends, everything we are to them is written on their faces.
However, stangers mean anonymity. Anonymity means no fear of judgement. No fear of judgement can lead to honesty. And that is exactly why I think it is so easy for Geet to share the chaotic broken music her life has become with Anjuman.

"You know, all of the pigs had intended for their houses to last forever. But alas..."
"It isn't what you build that matters, Geet. It is what you build it from that does."

The 3 pigs analogy and Anjumans advice is right on the dot. They need to find their groove back. They need to find music that fits them together not individually.

Oh great one, I bow down my head to the awesomeness of your symphony. Kasam se kya likhti ho yaar. Your updates have the depth and clarity of the deepest lake, which by the way I believe is some lake in russia(forgot the name).😆

P.S
I am not a musician in case you were wondering.
Just love any symphony orchestra version of "Carol of the Bells" and was listening to it right beore i read your update, and that's why the whole musical comment😆

Shoot, I just realized after posting, the comment almost as big as the update. Sab tumhari galti hain. Kyu likhti ho itna accha phir tum.😆

I remember this music!
Mesmerizing update.
The flow of words, the words... totally enchanting. You are very very very good at this.
I love the three little pigs analogy.
Little did I realize how much unconsciously I was waiting for you to update.
Thanks for the update Zarin.

YouTube! I can't listen to the music so I might've not gotten the exact feel to the chapter. 😭

Even without playing a music in the background, I was pulled into the rhythm of this chapter... It was mesmerising to read. It was like I was sitting right there on the veranda floor beside Geet and watching the morning grey replace the midnight blue. Mesmerising I say, because it was the way you wrote it. But the view and the despair that painted the picture complete wouldn't let me call the view beautiful. Of course you described it beautifully! 😊

A few lines that jumped out at me to be noticed and thought about in this chapter.

"We're all beautiful things, made ugly only when forced together."
Wow! The reality is so easily put into these words. That everything is beautiful in itself but it just doesn't complement the surrounding things! 👏

"...she moved closer to the leg of Anjuman's chair, resting her head against its groove."
Sometimes, the solace that a stranger can provide is a lot more than what someone you know, can offer. This is what pulled her and made her move closer to the older woman.

"...divided, we stand; united, we fall."
Another fact so simply put! If we work separately and in our own contradicting ways towards a single goal, success doesn't very often grace us with its presence. But one thing is for sure, the fall is everybody's then.

"It isn't what you build that matters, Geet. It is what you build it from that does."
This line stunned me. Could this have been expressed any better than this? I think not. The depth of this one line made me think about it. It made me realise how true this is and what our general point of view is. This one line told me again that foundation is the thing that we need to focus on and not the outlook.

Well done, Zarin! Take a bow from me! 👏
Thanks for the PM! 😊

First of all, Reel isn't it? Couldn't forget the music, nor the story, for it is a majestic painting painted before our eyes which we can't forget even if we want to. Let's get back to business now.

It is strange isn't it, that the Nature which would look comforting and inviting when we are happy might look gloomy and intimidating when we are facing the demons of our minds. The whoosh of the wind, the chilliness of the breeze, could be disturbing and the silence frightening too. Isn't it?
I could almost feel the picture you painted before me, I can almost see Geet looking into the silent night, trying to fight with the feelings she was trying to run away from., I could see the turmoil she might be going through, I could see Anjuman listening to the young woman patiently.
"There was something comforting, she found, in confiding in someone who had no reason to be there for you."
Maybe. Sometimes you could tell your worst fears to random strangers than the persons who are close to you. Sometimes you wish the person you share with doesn't have the need to care for you. Sometimes you just need a sounding board to throw your inner thoughts at.

I think at that point Geet might not have liked had the woman butted in and took either of their sides. For some reason I don't see two different parties here, that we advocate for one person blaming the other, as Geet says they are two souls who, focused on what to build and eventually forgot how to build...

When Anjuman spoke, I almost felt a reverence at the woman's words. Maybe that wisdom would come only with age and experience. There are no "I am sorry" or "I can understand" Instead she put an entire new dimension to the issue that my mind ceased to work, for a beat.

I think I still am not out of the hypnotic state you put me in Z. I need some time to come back.

PS: I almost had a heart attack thinking it was Abhi, whose footsteps came closer to Geet. I was chanting "Not Abhi please". I don't like competition you see😆

PPS: The other day I was wondering if there's any Gadha for Heer, and I wondered for a beat if it were Abhi for her. Oh man I sound desperate😆

me and my whatever.

EDIT ~~

New font, but any specific reason? 😕 I chose comic sans for my writing cuz I felt it suited my personality. Somewhat comic yet sad you know.

Since I am in a weird mood nowadays let me just say a few lines that seem to sum up my feelings about the update.

The piano is playing. And the ferocious intensity is conveyed through the high pitch and tenor.
The vibration from the old wicker flap knocking some sense into the birds flying overhead.
The said birds fly back from the horizon in an anticlockwise direction.

A wild flamingo is standing on one leg. Hoping, waiting for the last of the catch.
To enter up onto his pink beak. So he can just gulp it down and fly away.

Geet has just chanced upon the lake with the migrating flamingo.
Wondering how the bird can change his home every season?
How does the place where he fed and grew become alien for the next few months.

But Lord knows that the flamingo has to only return to his habitat.
Flamingo instinctively knows that the particular lake might be dry at the moment.
But cometh the rain it will be abound with catch once more.

She waves at the flamingo hoping he remembers her when he sees her next time.
